Justin Upton went 4 for 4 last night while hitting his sixth HR of the 2013 season. Upton is riding a .423 average with 8 RBI's and playing very solid defense for Atlanta. Upton's career numbers remain consistent vs. Miami with a .425 average four HR's and 17 RBI's. Upton is simply getting the clutch hits when clutch time arrives. Giancarlo Stanton is only checking in with a .174 average but maybe more contrasting has no HR's and no RBI's in the 2013 season compared to his dynamic performances in the past. The Marlins have only a team average of .170 with Runners In Scoring Position and have only scored 14 runs this year and have been shut out three times contributing to the Marlins worse start since 2006. Atlanta brings a four game win streak into tonight's game looking to notch another road win. Medlen will get the call for Atlanta and is 0-1 3.60 ERA so far this season but 15-4 2.83 ERA in 32 starts since breaking into MLB. Medlen is also 2-0 1.80 ERA in three career starts vs. Miami. Braves are 26-6 overall in games where Medlen starts. Miami will start Leblanc who is 0-1 3.60 ERA and 0-2 5.65 ERA in three starts vs. Atlanta. Jason Heyward is slumping at the moment and needs to find a remedy soon before it really starts to get to him mentally. Marlins Ball Park is a big place and Heyward can utilize the alleys to get fundamental hits if he will just put the ball into play. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
