Took the A's +500 and the Rangers +250 to win the division, Angels bullpen is rather bad, Wilson has been disappoiting for over 1 yr (with a few exceptions), Hanson seems to have lost a bit over the last few years, Vargas is a decent #3 or #4 guy, Blanton will eat innings, but not someone I'd like to round out my rotation if I consider myself a contender and Weaver is out for 4-5 starts and didn't look like the pitcher that has been in the Cy Young talk for several years now.
Offense imo is overrated, Hamilton was plain out bad last year after the allstar break and one of the (main) reasons why TEX missed the playoffs. Don't really see how he should be that much of an offensive upgrade over Hunter, who played a great season (with clutch hits) last year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them (and the Yankees) finish 3rd in their division and miss the playoffs completely.
OAK imo has the deepest rotation, the best bullpen (in that division) and without many big names, they have very capable hitters and know how to create runs. TEX has a good bullpen (also people tend to forget that, in case he is the same pitcher he was before the injury, they might get a great arm in the bullpen when Soria comes back from injury this June. Might even get Neftali Feliz back for the stretch run). Rotation is lacking depth, esp. with Harrison struggling and going to the DL, but same thing here: 2nd half they might get Colby Lewis back.
