Roy Halladay notched his 200th win Sunday. Here are the next five we expect to join him:
Tim Hudson
The Braves righty got No. 199 Saturday at Washington. His next scheduled start is Friday in Pittsburgh.
CC Sabathia
He sits at 193, and since he has averaged 15 wins the last six years, he should get there this season.
Mark Buehrle
At 34 and 174 wins, he won 13 each of the last four seasons. Two more years of that puts him right there.
Justin Verlander
Skipped a few active guys for age, but at 30 and 126 wins, we think the Detroit Tigers ace is a relatively safe bet.
Felix Hernandez
Just 99 wins, but he's only 27 and can be dominant. Playing for a contender would help.

Wow, I didn't realize Hudson had 199. How old is he?

do we ever see another 300 game winner?

I doubt there will be another 300 game winner unless they go back to a 4 man rotation, which will never happen.

It's rare for a pitcher to get a spot in the rotation in his early 20's. but lets take that phenom that comes in and dominates in his early 20's. He would need an amazing run over 17 years to do it.

He starts as a 23 year old and dominates for the next 12 years until he starts to slow at 35. Winning 20 games a year. That's 240 wins

From 35 to 38 he averages 15 wins a year. That's 285

From 38-40 he needs another 15 to get to 300

That is without missing any significant time from injury or a strike/lockout. And those numbers aren't realistic for any pitcher. No pitcher is going to strong together that many 20 win seasons. Especially with all the specialist pitchers coming in the 7th innings on

250 wins is more reasonable

32 year old CC Sabathis seems durable.

Needs 107. If he is pitching at 40 - he has a great shot.

He's got a lot of innings on that arm. Not to mention his weight. He'll need to drag an IV of insulin to the mound just to hold off the diabetic coma.

It would have been interesting to see how close Pettite came if he didnt leave the Yankees for Houston (although he did put up good numbers in Houston so it likely wouldnt have made a difference), take 2011 off and pitched a full season last year without being hurt. Also missed a chunk in 2010 and 2004

He's at 247 now. That year he took off you could give him 15 likely, that was his average for the 5 previous years. Another 15-18 for the time he missed in 2004, 2010 and 2012. He missed 47 starts over those years so that would equate to a season and a quarter.

That would put him around 280. He could easily get another 10 this year. That would put him really close.

Injuries and missing a year took away any real shot.
