The Atlanta Braves are 9-1 and have three consecutive series sweeps to their credit a winning streak not seen since April of 2000. The Braves have had contributions on both sides with a Pitching Staff with a 1.82 ERA and an offense who has a Runs Scored 62 to Runs Against 23 + 39 ratio. Medlen is 1-1 1.50 ERA and in his only start vs. Kansas City he allowed four runs in six Innings Pitched. Kansas City has won seven of nine and comes into night's game with a 3-3 road record. Guthrie is 2-0 3.55 ERA this season but 7-0 2.37 ERA last 13 in which the Royals won 12. Alex Gordon is .373 and has an eleven game hitting streak while Billy "Country Breakfast" Butler is .257 with two HR's 11 RBI's and 10 BB's. This interleague matchup should see some quality pitching but Atlanta's hitting has been getting the big knocks in the past few weeks. Guthrie will have to keep Justin Upton and Evan Gattis guessing if Kansas City hopes to keep Atlanta from getting in a scoring groove. The script for tonight for Medlen will be the same as any Atlanta game. The Atlanta starter has to keep Kansas City to limited or no runs giving the offense the time and opportunities to manufacture a few runs before the late innings when Kimbrel comes in to close it out. If these thing fall into place Atlanta's Big Country Breakfast should be scattered smothered and covered. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.

Guthrie may pose some problems for Atlanta in the short term but Braves might have some success in the second go through in the order. However Atlanta did get to Gonzalez early Sunday when most thought Braves might need a second go round to find baserunners. Medlen should have a good outing backed up by solid defense but will have to focus with Gordon who does have the eleven game hitting streak. BJ Upton finally stepped up this weekend providing hits and Heyward, Uggla and Johnson would love to get it going tonight in front of the home crowd.

Braves Pitching Staff has given up six runs in over 40 innings of work. The focus for today will be Atlanta -1 -125 looking for a continuation of stellar pitching and dependable bullpen performance. Medlen with a good outing and solid defense backing him might break up Gordon's hit streak so A. Gordon No Hits + 190 is also a Prop for tonight.

I like Atlanta a lot, but with their success of late I'm getting to a point where I'm wondering when to fade these guys. When they start coming back down to earth it's going to happen quickly

Game tonight on Channel 646 DTV with a start time of 7:10 PM EST. Nobody caught on to the scattered smothered covered as in scattered smothered and covered hash browns reference and The Waffle House with a Big Country Breakfast. I am disappointed in you guys.

Well that's the thing...

Scattered, Smothered, and Covered = Waffle House
Big Country Breakfast = Hardee's/Carl Jr.'s

The two don't combine. With that being said, I'm on the Royals tonight...

Big Country Breakfast is also an IHOP title. I'll take the Cracker Barrel Smokehouse sampler.

Guthrie did have a nice paint the corner K on J Upton. Both pitchers look good early. Nice piece the pre game did on Jackie Robinson. Enjoyed seeing the vintage footage.

Atlanta down tonight 2-1 after five complete innings. Braves playing a sloppy in the field this game. Need to keep Royals at 2 for the remainder and get at least two runs between now and the conclusion. Will be interesting to see how this one shakes out. Royals + money of the first five was a nice hit for those who had it.

A. Gordon was 0-3 but got a single his last at bat. The Prop for the night went South or actually to Right Field.

Juan Fransico with a multi HR night and Francuer with a great throw to gun down Simmons who in all actuality was right to try to score. Very close play at the plate and commentators still don't know.

Heyward Upton and Uggla all go deep in unbelievable fashion in the 8th combined with the other two equals five solo HR's on the night. Kimbrel should be on shortly to get it in the barn. What a crazy 8th inning for Atlanta. I was thinking extra innings before the onslaught. The fans will leave happy on Jackie Robinson Night.

Braves send out Avilan instead in relief and then tears up hamstring having to be carried off the field. Wow what a sour note to end the game on.

6-3 Final. Braves take win streak to 10 games. Hats off to KC for keeping it tight up until the 8th. It was a tit for tat game up to that point. Stay Safe RX Land.
