Bucs hold the 13th overall pick and that may not be enough as the Jets continue to ask for more.

What's the most you give up for this cornerback who's health & ability is still up in the air after ACL surgery?

Probably a 1st and 3rd rounder if my team was close.

If I was the buccs though not really sure. That is the type of move you make if you feel like you are close but need a power move to get over the top.

i.e SF, Atlanta, GB, Houston type teams

Wouldn't give up a first rounder if I'm Tampa, for the reason stated above... Bigger fish to fry.

IDK, it depends on how many years he has left under contract.

If its a bunch, I give a 1st and a 3rd....

He's only 27... So prime for an athlete. I'd say get a good 5 years out of him, it's worth it. Corners are just too hard to find, and so needed.

Well it's Revis so he is gonna try to renegotiate after 6 months or so, there is that.

Same here

Yeah but what if you were a fan of a team that was close, if Revis is healthy he can certainly put it over the top.

I don't know how anyone couldn't be a Revis fan when he was healthy. Playing CB is impossible in the NFL now and he was still shutting elite WRs down.

Even thought it's risky imo, I would give up that 13th pick, but no more.

And one of the main reasons I would take the chance is because of the Bucs signing 49ers safety Dashon Goldston.

So the trio of Goldson, Revis, and last years top pick safety Mark Barron could be dominant back there.

And I know you and others are about to laugh about what I'm going to say, but we had one of the best All-round CB's in history and I'm willing to say that Revis will be a bit of a disappointment if he comes to town & will never live up to the type of career Ronde Barber has had.
Bucs fans will use Barber as a comparison and expect Revis to live up to those same high playing-standards...

Yeah Talib was the man. Too bad the Buccs couldn't tolerate his swag and badass ways...

Oh you were talking about Ronde Barber, n/m.

Bucs play two of the best passing offenses in the league 4 times in conference......maybe a little logic.

Yeah I think Buccs should still do it.

@Hache...if Talib stayed in FL feels like he might've killed someone. Talk about a guy that needed a change of scenery. He is a top 10 CB when healthy and on the field and NE got him back for 1yr/5Mill so you know that fool is crazy. His injury in AFCCG changed the whole game.

Jets CB Revis To The Bucs

Revis to Bucs, pending physical

By Rich Cimini | ESPNNewYork.com

After months of trade speculation, the New York Jets are prepared to desert Revis Island.

The Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a trade for Darrelle Revis, pending the star cornerback passing a physical, according to a league source. The parameters of a contract extension for Revis with the Buccaneers are in place.
The Jets will receive multiple draft picks, including the 13th overall choice, from the Buccaneers if Revis passes his physical. The Jets already own the ninth pick, setting themselves up to add two potential impact players.
Revis is en route to Tampa, a source said, and is expected to take the physical later Sunday.
The contract isn't expected to be an issue for the Bucs, who apparently are willing to pay Revis about $15 million per year.

But there's risk: Revis is only six months removed from ACL knee surgery and was cleared to run without restriction only last Monday.
If the trade is consummated, the Bucs, determined to improve their league-worst pass defense, will have added two impact players to their secondary in safety Dashon Goldson and Revis, widely regarded as the best corner in the league.
Jets officials had made it clear that Revis could be had for the right price, a surprising public stance that irked their best player, according to a source.
The latest developments followed years of contract demands and special requests by Revis and his agents.

The most recent dispute occurred when Revis, who had been rehabbing in Arizona, asked to be excused from the first two weeks of the offseason program. The Jets refused.
Revis, with a $1 million workout bonus tied to his participation in the voluntary workouts, showed up to satisfy the clause.
Revis was seeking about $16 million a year in a long-term deal, and Jets owner Woody Johnson told confidantes as far back as January he had no intention of doling out that much for a non-quarterback, sources said.

Johnson denied that, insisting it was "patently untrue" that he had no desire to extend Revis' contract.

Revis was entering the final year of his contract and was due to make $6 million -- $3 million in bonuses and $3 million in base salary. He triggered a $1 million roster bonus March 16, but the Bucs would assume that payment as well as a $1 million workout bonus and $1 million reporting bonus.

Bad deal for the Bucs; Revis could disappoint along the lines of Asomughas with the Eagles.

Asomughas a little different situation, went from a team playing man to man to a team playing tons of zone that tried to make him play more like Charles Woodson. Also Nnamdi was older than Revis is at this time.

Considering he just took $0 guaranteed, I'd say it was a great deal.

With ATL and NO in their division you got guys to match Revis on.

A #1 CB can become devalued in the modern game because teams have so many passing options, but the teams in that division (particularly ATL/Car) have top notch WRs for him to shadow.
