Looking forward to today's card on Fox. Liking the fact that it starts and ends early, and is free, which seems to be the most entertaining cards these days. A few plays I like...
Boxing
Alvarez -170......................2 units - as weezy also stated in his thread, I think Saul is just way better, and -170 is always considered hefty juice to lay, it seems like a gift here. Look to see Alvarez end this fight early.
UFC on Fox
.5 unit plays
Means +125
Starks +150
Brown +295 -Mein is good, but Brown is tough. He has improved also from his gatekeeper status of the UFC also IMO, and at almost 3 to 1, I see value because I know when Brown steps into the ring, I'm getting a guy who will nonstop move forward and try to win the fight regardless of the pounding he takes or not. I'll take my chances here. Hoping to win 2 out of 3 of these, and would like too see this as one of them (of course).
----------------------------------
Josh Thomson +155.................2 unit to win -This should be a great fight and these guys should go to war. Nate looked a little rough at the weigh-ins most likely from a little weight cut, and I hope Thomson can continue to give him fits inside the ring. Looking forward to hearing Nate whine about something else after the loss to Thomson. Look for Thomson to slowly pick him apart here.
---------------------------------
Melendez +248......................1 unit - Think Gilbert is tough enough to give Benson fits. The fight should go to a decision, and I think Gilbert can win a close fight with more damage in the stand up. The ground game is about even, with maybe a slight advantage to Benson with the wrestling and takedowns with those monstrous legs. However, his jitz is just par really. I have seen him get finished by subs several times in jitz tourneys within the first 2 minutes. I see this fight as these 2 exchanging blows, going to the ground for a few, then getting back up to finish rounds standing and banging. The fight goes to a decision, and i think Melendez wins with the more damage done in the standup with the Thai over the flashy kicks of Benson.
---------------------------------
Parlay .5 unit to win .9536 units
Fury -650
Alvarez -190
Cormier -420
Dillashaw -300
Hope every one enjoys the fights and the rest of the weekend heading into Earth Day. What a gorgeous day it is here today. get out and plant something before enjoying the action this afternoon and tonight. good luck to all...
