Could be a trip, a monster run, someone you met, a period of time in life, etc.

Especially interested in hearing stories from back in the days

I've said this story on here before.

Last season was trying to bet 200 bucks on a Sunday night game at the last minute on the steelers (-6 vs bengals). The bet wouldn't submit so I kept on clicking it over and over again trying to get it in before the game kicked off. Well I ended up draining my entire account on it because it accepted each click as a new bet. And the steelers immediately went down 10-0 in the first quarter. The ended up winning by 7 and I covered and won huge on a bet I only was going to put a little bit of money on because I was bored.

I won 14 straight hands of blackjack at a casino in Lake Tahoe back in the late 70's. And with the winnings I then drove my two buddies to Carson City and treated them both along with me of course, to some fine Nevada whores at the Kit Kat Ranch. A trip we'll never forget.

had a sizeable bet on MLB about 10 years ago. Phila -1.5 runs. Philly rallied to tie the game in the bottom on the 11th after the opposition scored a few runs in the top of the 11th. Had a runner on third. A single wins the game, but loses my bet. Got two walks to load the bases and then.. bam... grandslam to win my bet. Always remember that feeling as one of the best. Very enjoyable win

I think I've told this one before.

I was in a casino in a European country and was there to get a sandwich. As I was waiting, I put $2 in a video poker machine. I think the second pull I hit a Royal Flush for something like $1,200.

Grabbed my sandwich and went back to my hotel.

There's nothing to pull on a VP machine

Push, pull WTF ever.

I just liked the slip coming out the machine. It was actually in another monetary value so the Brit next to me had to tell me how much I won in dollars.

I was a peach fuzz faced kid back then, so I barely knew anything about gambling. I know I started out flat betting, then got brave and did a few parlays in the middle. Enough to win us a trip to Carson City. I pocketed that money. Then I got a little nervous and flat bet the rest of the way until I lost. That's when we left the casino. I rememeber we didn't arrive at the Ranch until very late, like 1am in the morning. So we didn't have the biggest lineup of girls to pick from. But we weren't very choosey back then.

OK, my best story (or stories)...

Lived in Vegas for two years back from 1998-2000. I played A LOT of blackjack and often at a decent rate per hand. On this one particular night, I was out with a friend playing VERY small. Really, we wanted to just hang out and get free drinks for a while, so I sat down in the Monte Carlo with $150, which was all I pretty much had for that week. After almost 10 hours of playing, I had worked the amount up to an even $1000 profit. It was a great day of cards and we started to head out. Just before we hit the door, there was a roulette wheel staring at us. Now I hate roulette. Never play it. Old people and drunk woman play roulette. Anyway, my friend challenges me to put the entire grand on black. It took a few minutes to talk me into it, but what the hell, it was all profit and we drank all night for free. 26 black. Winner. Before I can even grab my chip, he is already talking me into letting it ride. Now not the whole amount, just the $1000 I had just won. Why not? Let's play until red comes up at $1000 a pop.

26 black spins later, I am walking to the cage with a handful of yellow chips. Up $26K. I have never seen that many of one color in a row - EVER (or since). The entire sign was lit up black. There was a huge crowd around me, but I didn't much notice. It's like 4AM by now. On our way out, a guy runs up and asks if we have a place to stay for the night.

"Well, no," I said. "We just flew in and haven't decided yet." Uhh, we lived just down the street.

Of course the guy offers up a great room, full RFB. I have to call my wife back at home and have her pack a bag. "Honey, we are staying at the Monte Carlo for a few days."

Room was great. Had a giant jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room and a button that made one whole wall of drapes rise up to reveal glass floor to ceiling and an awesome view of the strip from the tub. We ordered Filet Mignon every 45 minutes for the first few hours then headed across the street to NYNY. We promptly lost the ENTIRE 26 grand in about 3 hours. I was sick. No, I couldn't even pull out $5K??? Nope, chased that ship right into the ground. We ended up staying in the room at the Monte Carlo for another day and a half before they finally ordered us out because I had not been back down to the floor to play. We used the "sick" excuse and "have a meeting" lie to drag it out as long as we could.

Fast forward one week to the day. This time we are out playing again at Mandalay Bay, starting with the same $150. Same long hours slowly building my roll to $1000. Get up to leave. Same challenge, same play on roulette. 29 black. Winner. What the hell? Let it ride again. 17 blacks in a row before red finally comes up and I now have $16K. No way in hell was I letting this one turn out the same way.

I left and drove immediately to the Ducati shop down off Sunset and bought a motorcycle THAT DAY. 1998 yellow Ducati SuperSport. Loved that bike.

Haven't had a run like that since. I've been up that much money, but started with much more too. Never that kind of luck. Uhh, and I still hate roulette.

Took a stretch up to the Derby with 5 other couples. Couldn't cash a ticket to save my life. Had $300 left in my wallet and put $100 across on Charismatic. The rest is history.

Now that's gambling! Lol

When i first started going to casinos back in late 90's. i had a small roulette run of $10 to $1700. That was huge to me. I picked 4 numbers in a row and was parlaying my bet. Lol

Back in my college days and when betwwts was around (and legit) I hit a $20 9 teamer and it paid I think around $4500? I also had other various 5, 4 & 3 teamers with the same teams and in the $200 each on the 9 teams in my 9 teamer. I ended up with more than $12000 in my account from an initial $500 deposit. My last game was the Jets -3 for a ton of parlays but it started at 3:00 and I had 2 close games from the noon games so there was no way I could hedge because I didn't know the outcome of the early games. I would like to say I had some magical backdoor cover in the final but they were up 24-0 at the half and won the game 27-3 or something like that but easily, easily covered.

It took awhile but received 3 $4000 checks from them (one bounced but got it taken care of) and was worried my bank would say something. Not a word...In college it was like I won the lottery. I bought a Ninja (like another story above) but also gave some of it back over the year.

I'm sure I'm down more in craps than I'm up but have a few long roll type runs where I've hit for around $5k in the past 5 years, twice in Vegas. Never once have I even sniffed a comp however win or lose.

One I can't forget..

1993...the wife & I and another couple go to the Kentucky Derby

Sun-Times horse-racing writer Dave Feldman..was so ALL OVER.... SEA HERO

I had to play it....

put 500.00 across......bingo

funny thing was....I couldn't cash the ticket....lines were to long (infield)...

anyway right after the race..it started pouring rain...

which lead to many woman doing topless slip-n-slide w/ the tarps in the infield....

that was fun to watch...
