Love the idea..

Basically run like a poker site with the payoffs.

Dont have to worry about being cheated by other players..

I joined for free, not sure if I'll load an account or not.

Lots of guys here have been playing for a while now.

Not only should more advertise on here on a regular basis, but all existing sportsbooks need to follow and offer their players the same types of software & games because the popularity is only going to continue to grow...

rake is way too high.

can get old fast

not as profitable as poker.

Still fun and easy payouts though.

was just looking at the rake.. they do take quite a bit..

i might try it for $ 100

WNO what site are you playing on? The rake does suck but a few sites offer rakeback and have good overlay in their tourneys. FanDuel is the site everyone knows but they really don't do shit for their players.

If I were the management of therx(which you are)I would spam every single fantasy site in america to get them to advertise on the forum.
This would open up a revenue stream this place has never had.
The people who post here are the exact type's of people who play at these places.

One thing you need to do though is prop up the fantasy sections and try to get traffic up on fantasy related talk.

Im sure im already telling you what you already know.

On a side note I have the over/under on when these site will be declared illegal at 3.5 years.
I have the under.

As the competition rises the low juice shops will come along just like they did for sportsbooks and poker sites.
You can make up the juice on the donks for now.

Wish I could do this but its not legal where i live.

I actually disagree with this. I think the type of people that play DFS and bet on sports don't have as much overlap as you would think. A lot of people just wanna get a sweat in and betting into an efficient line and losing the 5% over time is a way of doing that whether you have knowledge or not.

Daily fantasy might be fun but if you don't put in the time to make good lineups with what the competition and the rake is, you will lose very fast (the rake is double sports betting on average)

I actually know the owners of multiple sites and could help the RX do that but I think you are way off on the customer base here. DailyJoust (a site I don't know anyone at) advertised here for like 2 months and noticed nobody signed up so they just left. Hache I think will agree with this assessment....

Although I do think the fact it is legal and not a major pain in the ass to fund is a reason you would want to advertise more DFS sites on here.

I just think by and large fantasy sports is relatively new and we have a lot of old school gamblers here that probably could careless about it.

You may be right.
I dont think many of the current people on this forum currently play daily fantasy sports.
But I think its safe to say this is a potential audience for this business.
I dont think it would be that difficult to get people that bet on sports to play daily fantasy sports.

I agree with you 100% that there are some that BOS that would never do the fantasy thing but there are potential customers for that at therx.

But like I said, therx will need to promote there fantasy sections to make this place more of home for fantasy

Yeah just on the legality alone it would be a smart move. You can fund a DFS site through a subsidiary of a fortune 500 company in 1 minute (Playplall)

I just don't know if you would get the bang for your buck.

Also I can't answer this but would the sportsbooks that advertise here have a problem with this considering DFS is more their competition.

Also @Hache...Starting a DFS site is far more costly than a sportsbook. You need an up to the minute live scoring stats feed which isn't cheap and to make the game very interactive. I don't think you will see a 5D or BetCris doing this anytime soon. These companies book bets, they aren't investing in software, they aren't a tech startup which is what a lot of these DFS sites basically are.

You can get a free trial if you type in someone from ESPN name into the box provided. Like Colin or SVP or Rome.

I dont know man.
I think you highly underestimate the sophistication of the upper tier sports books.
Things like up to the second scores to make it user friendly is not that big of a deal to pull off.
Pinnacle has a much more complex software to keep up with all bets and line moves across all sports books.
They already have the software you are speaking of, they just dont have it setup for fantasy purposes because they dont need to.

I would say the software at the upper level sports books are much more expensive then fandual.

This would be an interesting topic if we could get people from both sides of the fence to talk about this.

For up to the minute stat scoring? You would need to pay a stat provider for that like Stats Inc or 1 of the cheaper ones. I mean there are other significant investments associated with this that just wouldn't be worth it IMO.

Not to mention like I said, I don't believe the player base overlaps enough, I think the demographics are a little different and fantasy skews a little younger. I just don't think it would be worth it to a 5D/betcris

Especially since it is quasi-legal in the US and anyone could just play at those places with far less hassle/risk.

Why would anyone put $ into 5Dimes to play daily fantasy when there are legal sites they could do it that would have a way bigger player base, more prizes and easier to fund?
