I will get right to it as I just saw a mini-series that I believe can put a couple units in my bankroll on Monday and Tuesday. Miami heads to Minnesota to play their two game series. I think the way the Twins are playing and the fact that they are going for a season high win streak will give them the edge on this series. The Twins at Target field with Correia on the hill should cruise by the Marlins these next couple of games. I believe this line will move another 10 cents in favor of the Marlins so I would grab it while you can.

Minnesota Twins -143

***DISCLAIMER***

I guess I should offer up this disclaimer... It might snow/rain in Minneapolis tomorrow night and once again they could have this one postponed. I still believe that they should push the pre-season to April and start the regular season in May and have the playoffs in September. Additionally, Bud Selig should cut down the amount of regular season games (obviously if the regular season is going to fun from May to August). Either way, I like the Twins for both of these games even if they play a double header on Tuesday (weather permitting).

I have one other game circled at the moment that I am very interested in. The Pirates and Phillies game tomorrow. The Phillies are going to have to bring up Jonathan Pettibone from the minors for his first major league start. He has not fared well in his time at LeHigh (triple A). He gave up 15 hits and 10 earned runs in 9 innings pitched. I am hoping to wake tomorrow morning with Pittsburgh as a 20-30 cents favorite due to them being on the road (so to speak when they play in Philadelphia).

I woke up, worked out and I see a couple books with the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia line up. The line opened up at -125 as Pittsburgh as a favorite... This is exactly where I had the line opening and once the major books start to open the line I expect it to be the same. Until then I'll wait. I am going to be all over Pittsburgh for this game.

These are my leans for the NL East today:

Atlanta ML
Atlanta/Colorado under 10
Saint Louis ML
Saint Louis/Washington under 8

The lines are going back and forth on the aforementioned leans so I am going to stay away. I just do not see a huge edge to exploit.

Lines are opening up right now. I got it at -115... I doubt it will stay there.

Pittsburgh Pirates -115

I like the over in that game as well. I expect Pettibone's first start to be a rough one against a hot Pirates team.

Glad to see my St. Louis leans hit. Atlanta obviously was cancelled

Anyway, these postponed games are becoming commonplace. Kind of annoying but I get the privilege of seeing a double header with the Braves and Rockies tomorrow. Which brings me to the other double header... Miami and Minnesota. I like Minnesota in both games. Miami is going into this game playing in a hostile climate and just do not match-up well against the Twins. Additionally, I like the Braves to take both games from Rockies tomorrow afternoon. The Braves are the superior team here. The Rockies have played overrated west coast opponents and the Braves have proven to beat some of the power houses according to power rankings.

Minnesota Twins -144 @ 2:10 PM
Minnesota Twins -126 @ 8:10 PM
Atlanta Braves +103 @ 8:40 PM
Atlanta Braves ? @ 3:10 PM

On the road and travelling but I like Halladay tomorrow for the Phillies and I like the Braves once again (and whenever the line opens).

Going with the Cincinnati this series against the Nationals. I see no offensive production from the Nationals. Additionally, their pitching has been sub-par for this club. For the first time to begin a season the Nationals are held to high standards. It seems to me they are letting their previous years success get to them. They are all sporadic and now have slipped below .500 this season. Cincinnati on the other hand has shown that they are heating up and meshing well together. The Reds have won 8 of their last 10 games and will continue to find ways to win.

Cincinnati Reds +115

The Reds were routed yesterday and shows that the Nationals can score runs this season... sporadically. Anyway, this should set-up the Reds nicely for today's game. Going with the Reds again. I like them for the series... They will be an underdog throughout this one.

Cincinnati Reds +121

Let's see Kendrick get a big win today versus Gee and the Metropolitans. I think the Phillies heat up and win a few in a row. I like them through this series actually.

Philadelphia Phillies +103

All right, looking for some Reds and Phillies to do some damage today. I like them as underdogs. I have not played many dogs this year but I am giving it a go this week. A favorite I like out in the West are the Diamondbacks to trump the Rockies today. The Rockies have a tendency (I have noticed) to be act like high school and college athletes... You would think the average age of this club to be 20. Either way the Rockies are a 5-5 road team. Their record does not represent their abilities... They are playing way above current expectations. The Diamondbacks are a strong lean for me.

Split today and the lean did not hit. April is coming to an end and this is where I finally have enough stats to make some better predictions. The teams have finally moved past that pre-season mental state and into their regular season mentality.

Anyway, I am sticking to my guns tomorrow. I am taking the Reds and the Phillies again. Also, I like the upcoming Miami series with the Cubs that starts on Sunday.

Additionally, I really did not know how Maholm would fair against Detroit... Now I know. I might take Atlanta tomorrow and Sunday as well. They seem like they are priced right. I will decide in the morning.

Sticking with Philadelphia tomorrow afternoon and Atlanta for the night game. I am trying to picture a scenario where Hamels goes 0-4 to start the season and I can't come to see it. I think that the Phillies finish off their sweep of the Mets. Additionally, this game should go over the posted total of 7.

I love that the Atlanta game should be a great rubber match. I also love the fact that the Braves are going to snake tomorrow's prime-time game. I won't predict a score but I am leaning over 8 again. I won't make that official yet but I will continue to look at rosters, weather, and line movements.

Philadelphia Phillies -108
Philadelphia Phillies/New York Mets over 7 -115
Atlanta Braves +125

Barring an Atlanta come back I am chalking this one up to a loss for the Braves. The Mets did not provide much runs support today or that game would have gone over rather easily. Either way the worst part of the season is coming to an end (April) and I have collected enough stats and seen enough to start going on some nice runs and building up some units.

My goal is to win 4 units a week. We have about 22 weeks (give or take a couple days) of the regular season left. +80 units to finish off the regular season would be phenomenal. Anyway, my updated record and units is listed below. I am looking at tomorrow's card and can already tell I like the Nationals. More to follow...

YTD 28-28 -1.81 units

Till tomorrow...
