I don't know if any of you are familiar with the web site, ripoffreport.com but it seems they are a site where people can post bad experiences with companies and i guess with other individuals as well. These can be totally unsubstantiated and in many cases outright lies posted and somehow this site gets around having to remove them. They site a law called the communications decency act as to why they don't have to remove these posts. They have been sued but have never lost according to their website.
Anyway i just discovered a post written by an ex gf of mine on there. It was posted on the site nearly 2 years ago. We had broken up a year previous to that. In this post she names me, gives my address, and accused me of credit card fraud, idenity theft, says i hacked in to her computer, all this while she lived with me for 2 years before i kicked her out.
I can't get this site to remove this post of total fabricated lies. I can post a rebuttal but I want to sue this bitch. Do I have a legit case here? And what could i reasonably expect to receive in regard to damages? It will cost me a bit to do it so i want to at least recover that.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
