Why do we view the NFL draft the way we do?

I heard an interesting conversation on ESPN Radio today about Ryan Nassib.

The one guy said he watched Nassib all year and he likes him. Thinks he has good pocket awareness, solid feet, strong arm and accurate. He asked the other guy why it's not plausible for him to go as the first QB drafted?

The other guy's answer was that we've all read mock drafts for the last three months and we don't think he should be the first QB taken because the experts have told us that he shouldn't be.

I think the guy makes a good point. We are conditioned to listen to guys like Kiper and McShay and take what they say as gospel. Why can't Nassib be the first QB taken? Who says he can't be?

I'll tell you what, I like Nassib over G. Smith.

Football is King.

It draws alot of interest. It's different than before. Football is a year around sport now. Right now athletes are training and recovering. So many dynamics go into the sport of football it's just all gone so mad. I remember when the Oakland Raiders drafted that lineman from Iowa like he was a god and as soon as it was announced you'd think a Super Bowl touchdown was just scored with all the cheering. You got to consider the all the MARKETING that goes into this as well. No doubt the NFL is such a money drawn industry and they've found a way to market it all year round.

If we are all at this point now as opposed to decades past, where will we be decades from now? Are we going to get up-to-the-hour updates on a players condition all day every day thoughout his career? Ok, a little Big Brother like but you see where I'm going with this.

We need to go to the next level.....Referee Draft!

I was gonna post the exact opposite.

I still remember watching Blaine Gabbert play, then wondering what these scouts were thinking having him go top 10.

Isn't it odd how two sports fans can watch a game and walk away with the exact opposite opinions about a player?

I don't at all. He reminds me of that stiff Skelton for the Cardinals.

Don't hate on my boy Skelton, he was great at Fordham. He would do much better with a good offensive line, something the Cardinals have not had in years!

yeah glennon sucks. i'd almost rather have geno smith than glennon and that's saying a lot because geno will be an epic bust.

nassib is solid all-around.

Watching the Jets fans reaction to their pick is must-see. I think the last pick they liked may have been Kyle Brady.
