RX Pokerstars Money Tournament

Any interest in doing one this coming Monday night? Thinking $20-$50 buy in, only given password to get in if you have paid. What do you guys think? I know I helped set one up a year or two ago, and I think it went over pretty well. Thoughts?

I'd be in for sure but I don't know what sort of implications are involved. I am pretty sure similar things have proven dangerous as PPal gets suspicious with the money transfers and such...

I don't know how it could be illegal? Isn't it legal to host a poker game where no rake is involved and "the house" isn't taking a cut? I was in plenty of March Madness pools that had hundreds if not thousands of entries and the maint method of payment was PP.

PP can't be used for Gambling related things... even though it is many times...
Defying did some last year...and Lost his Account.

It can be done and it has been talked about Many times... I think we could get a good 10-12 weekly posters ( 16-18 would be Great )

but you will need to be careful

Well what do we need to do to get it set up? I volunteer to hold the money, if others are afraid. Obviously, that is if people are comfortable with that. I don't mind letting someone else do it either if someone more respected than me volunteers....

soon as that app lets us play home game tourneys I'm in this thing.

PSMM, I'd be okay with you holding the money. What happens though when you are holding the money and PP locks you up?

Good question. Although I very seriously doubt they lock me up considering I have a PP CC with about 2k on there. They lock me up, I refuse to pay it off.

it certainly isn't legal in wisconsin to host a poker game without rake. i have been at 2 local games that were shut down by the police while i was playing (both in bars and both without rake).

i think the risks far outweigh the rewards, but good luck if you decide to do it

Haha. Not that 2k is anything to PP, I just don't see them locking my account when I owe them a little change.

Would be interesting to know the legality behind it. I am pretty certain that here in Texas it is legal to host a poker game as long as the house isn't taking a cut.

Yea, ill play as soon as I can play from phone. I'm at work in the evenings so that's my only option. And PArlay Stole my Money is good for keeping the money in my book

I dont think there is a law problem. Stars would be "hosting" the game. The problems are with Stars and PP.
Both will boot you for doing it so at Stars you need to start a new club so the club here isnt put at risk then make damn sure every player knows not to mention cash of any kind in the Stars chat. Their chat is monitored for code words and if you talk money they will ban you and close the game. Same with PP, if your a regular user and have a lot of action in and out it shouldnt be a problem but if out the blue 10 ppl send you $25 or ?? to an account u use twice a year red flags will go up..
