Yes. 4 is great, but I think we will eventually see 6-8. Any more and that and the regular season will lose too much importance.

In D1, an 8-team playoff would be ideal. It will definitely expand from 4....but it's at least a start.

We'll eventually get to an 8 team playoff. But like anything else that's new, it's going to have to be one step at a time.

each conf should get 1 plus a few at large to even it out.

shit teams will get in but that will be the reward of the higher seeds...they play cupcakes...making the regular season VERY important....and still giving us the cinderella teams

They would never go to a best of 3 format in college football. It's too physical of a game. One of the first things that rookies complain about when they first enter the NFL and it's 16+ game seasons is they start hitting the wall at around 12-13 games because that's what they're used to playing in a season. As it stands now, we're talking about at least a 13-15 game schedule if a team makes the playoffs. I don't think it will ever go beyond that number. That's why I don't think it will ever reach beyond an 8 team playoff format. That would mean even more games to play. We have to remember that these are still student athletes we're dealing with. Not superhumans.

totally agree. 4 is an excellent place to start, as it'll still preserve the current level of importance of the regular season.
