The California Medical Board believes that David Chao should lose his medical license.
Nearly two dozen former patients who have sued him since 1998
(alleging in all the medical superfecta of malpractice, personal injury, negligence, and fraud)
the NFL and the San Diego Chargers, for whom Chao has served as team physician for the past 15 years.
The DEA says Dr. David Chao wrote himself illegal prescriptions more than a hundred times between 2008 and 2010.
The California state medical board says he's an alcoholic and needs psychiatric help.
Four former football players have sued Chao for malpractice,
claiming he ended or shortened their careers.
The San Diego Chargers, meanwhile, are bringing Chao back for his 14th season as the team's head physician.
But with a rap sheet to rival those of the NFL's top troublemakers
—DUIs,surgeries gone wrong, a raid of his office by the feds in June of last year,
