This wobbled my mind. I know my team has the best qb in the game but its almost to the point now where the value is so high maybe the saints should take him with the next pick. Yes I know he did not have a gray senior season but neither did Dan Marino. I think he is being punished much to much for last season. Somebody is going to get a great qb today. I rate him above all qbs in this years class. I would not have been surprised if someone would have picked him in the 1st.

I agree they will get a solid QB, but I can also see why he was put off as he wasnt the best qb available and its a "weak" class anyway for offensive purposes.

When Carson Palmer is your Best QB out of USC .... being Gun shy is no shocker !

these QB's at USC look the part in College, but Fail in the Pros.

I could say Mark Sanchez was the biggest Bust out of USC, but as long as Matt Leinart is still around.... He get's that award.

Spot on. Barkley will suck in the pros. There is a reason.....the NFL has also caught on to the USC QB trick....

Every player should be judged individually. Palmer has nothing to do with Barkley. If the college had anything to do with it Bray would be the next manning and Robinson would be the next Brady.

Have to diagree here Chop. It's a long running history not just one or 2. I addition SC always has great WR & OL, Yary, Munoz, Boselli, etc. Thus these SC QBs have a huge advantage in college, not always so at the Pro level. Some of this also explains Lacey's drop as he ran behind what amounted to an NFL line.

So are you saying if Andrew Luck would have gone to USC instead of Stanford he would have sucked in the NFL?

I hope he is just busting balls....lol
Nobody is saying that if even Peyton Manning played at USC that he would be a bad QB in the Pros.... it has nothing to do with it.

It's the way USC is built... or built around the QB

Barkley fucked himself out of millions by staying another year at USC.

I think you're missing the point. Yes I know USC has a lot of advantages that can produce fools gold at the NFL level. But If you're good you're good. Barkley playing at USC does not make him bad. Just like luck going to Stanford did not make him good. Saying that a player going to USC puts some kind of voodoo spell on his nfl potential is comical. Barkley is a completely separate entity from leinart, Sanchez and Palmer. To say otherwise is ridiculous. I have always thought Barkley was the best USC qb since I have been keeping up with football

Exactly. You guys are saying the same thing I'm saying but you don't realize it. So Payton manning could go to USC and be a good qb despite past USC failures but Barkley can't?

I finally have some respect for the scouts again. If you read any of my posts of this guy in the last few years, I said he can't play. Let's say there is an extremely small fear of him being another USC bust. His real issue is two fold, he lacks the arm strength and is accuracy isn't what the numbers say.

I wish there was a way to bet on this. Barkley will go down as the best USC qb ever.

Jeez!! We're not saying playing @ SC makes an avg player bad, it makes him appear better than he really is!!! The scouts are finally starting to realize this.

I understand completely what you are saying but at the same time this thinking can also make someone think that a great qb is average. I have threads from 2006 on this forum where I blasted ml and told everyone he was going to be a huge bust and leinart had a better college career then Barkley. I also laughed at the jets when they took Sanchez. This is not a USC thing. It's a Barkley thing and he is the best qb in this draft
