<!-- Starts article content --> CHICAGO - <hardreturn>David Price's first win of the season Sunday was overshadowed by a run-in with home plate umpire Tom Hallion after the seventh inning that turned into a game of he said/he said afterward with Price accusing Hallion of using an obscenity.

<hardreturn>Price, upset he didn't get an earlier called third strike on White Sox center fielder Dewayne Wise, yelled into his glove as he was walking off the mound after inducing Wise into an inning-ending comebacker.

<hardreturn>That's when Price said he heard Hallion say, "Why don't you throw the ball over the (blank)-ing plate?"

<hardreturn>A number of Rays said they heard the exchange, including Jeremy Hellickson, who was eventually ejected for yelling at Hallion.

<hardreturn>Price was upset in the dugout after the inning and was still upset after the Rays' 8-3 victory, which earned him his first win of the season.

<hardreturn>"For him to talk to me that way, no," Price said.

<hardreturn>Price said he spoke of the incident to reporters because he wanted it out there.

<hardreturn>"Something has to be done about that," he said.

<hardreturn>Hallion, when interviewed by a pool reporter, denied dropping an F-bomb on Price.

<hardreturn>"I'll come right out bluntly and say he's a liar," Hallion said.

<hardreturn>Hallion said Price never said anything to him but he could see from Price's body language that he was upset.

<hardreturn>"I said, 'Just throw the ball.' That's all I said to him," Hallion said.

<hardreturn>No F-bomb?

<hardreturn>"I'm denying what he said I said, pretty strongly," Hallion said.

<hardreturn>Price maintained that his version of the exchange was correct when Hallion's denial reached the clubhouse.

<hardreturn>Price responded with this tweet: "Someone give me the definition of a coward, please."</hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn></hardreturn>
