Here comes May and I have seen enough and collected enough statistics to hit my goal of 4 units a week. Tomorrow the Braves are going to finally be home after playing 17 of 24 games on the road. That is great and all but they get to deal with the Nationals after getting swept by the Tigers.

The team's morale cannot be too high right now. They continue to hit the ball and put up runs but the pitching has been sub-par over the past couple of weeks. Strasburg faces Teheran and as much as I would like to say the Braves will take this series (as a Braves fan) I just cannot back them in this situation. I like the over in the series as well. I hope to kick this week off with a couple wins tomorrow. I am staying away from the Mets and Marlins game as both teams are hard to predict right now. This is what I am taking tomorrow:

Washington Nationals -138
Atlanta Braves/Washington Nationals over 7 -115

Lots of hits tonight and not a lot of production. A rare score for the amount of hits this game had. Anyway, onward I tread. Staying with the Nationals and starting it up with the Phillies.

Washington Nationals -102
Philadelphia Phillies -113

Nice to see the Braves roasting the Nationals as a Braves fan. I did not see this one coming. They definitely are happy to be back in Atlanta. They are out there having fun and scoring runs. A recipe for a nice little streak. I believe at this stature I am going to go with the Braves ML for the next couple of series.

The Phillies on the other hand are a wreck tonight but I still think they can pull off a series victory from the Indians. Coincidentally, I am going to stick to Philadelphia for the series.

Let's go Braves!...and let's get the sweep.

All right I have reversed my prediction that the Nationals take this series. The Braves are just a good ball team at home. As I said in the aforementioned post, Atlanta is having fun, scoring runs, and will continue to win ball games.

I am not sure what in the world happened to the Phillies last night but every time I flipped over to the game I felt like the Indians score had doubled. Here is one fact that will not repeat itself... Nine home runs in a single game the rest of this series. Another one is that the the Phillies get a split decision this evening with Cliff Lee. Let's see if I can get two wins in a row. It is May 1st and a new month to track. Stats and emotional behaviors are in the holster and ready to be put to the test.

Man I really wanted to see the Braves win that one. Tomorrow Medlen is going to be riding the mound and my least favorite NL East pitcher (Dan Haren) will oppose him. Braves should close this one and take the Nationals for another series. I have been watching around the league (especially in the NL West) and I really am starting to appreciate the way the Braves are clicking as a team. They have veterans and guys with stories (like Gattis) who make the team dynamic and effervescent. So, Braves tomorrow then we will see about their series when they host the Mets for the weekend.

The Phillies just let the Indians walk all over them. The hitting was absent and I have lost faith in Philadelphia... Their pitching especially. Just to give you an idea of what statistics are just terrible: 23rd in runs, 25th on base percentage, and 22nd in slugging percentage. I am staying away from the Miami and Philadelphia series. I think there is going to be some value with the next Pirates when Washington gets there on Friday.

Atlanta Braves ML (I want to see if it comes down a bit before laying the 70 cents juice).

The Braves are juiced pretty high so again I am going to wait to see if that line comes down a little bit. The Nationals did not put up a ton of runs but they did hit Medlen hard and that is what I look for. So, going into this series I like the Nationals as a dog in the first game against Burnett.
Washington Nationals +116

Took a couple days off. There is a full slate today in the MLB. I like two games. First, I like good old Hudson to shut down the Mets today at Turner Field. I hope to see a ton of hits and runs from the Braves. The soft lineup is working its way back with Freeman healthy and McCann seems to be good to go very soon.

The second game is the over in the Miami and Philadelphia bout. I always get the feeling that Sunday afternoon games a lot of runs are to be scored. This is no exception. I like Halladay and Slowey but I think the bats are hot today. Look for about the same total as in game one.

Braves are looking strong and Hudson is timeless. Miami with 5 runs already. 2 more runs to cash in that game. Hopefully the Braves hold and get 9 more outs and I get 2 more runs in the Miami/Philadelphia game. Would love to go 2-0.

Tomorrow starts a new week for the NL East breakdown. I am feeling confident with data gathered from April to hit my goal of 4 units a week.

Updated Record:
38-28 ~ +10 units

Tomorrow morning I will have my picks out.
