Atlanta's Starting Pitcher Tim Hudson will once again try for 200 wins tonight at Turner Field in Atlanta as the Braves and Nationals battle for position in the NL East. Hudson sits on 199 career wins after getting shelled in Pittsburgh and looked to be in good shape to finally chalk up the milestone in his pitching career in Colorado, but a Braves Bullpen let down in the ninth inning spoiled the celebration. Hudson 2-1 4.50 ERA has not won since earlier this month beating the Nationals in Washington DC and is 0-1 giving up nine Runs 15 Hits and three HR's in ten Innings Pitched in his last two starts contrasted against his 1.32 ERA in his first two games of the season. Hudson lost both outings at Turner Field last season vs. Washington but is 15-5 2.60 ERA in 27 starts in this matchup. Hudson may not have to contend with Jayson Werth who is questionable for tonight after a hard foul ball off the foot from last night may keep him out of the lineup tonight. Werth was .385 with four doubles 3 HR's and 15 hits vs Hudson Werth's highest numbers vs any opponent pitcher. Bryce Harper is 3 for 12 vs Hudson and only 2 for 14 with a HR in the four games with Atlanta this season. Gonzalez is 2-1 4.50 ERA and gave up seven Earned Runs the last time out when pitching vs. Atlanta. Gonzalez is coming out a great outing however where he pitched eight innings only giving up a HR and no other hits in a win over Cincinnati. Gonzalez is 2-3 6.08 ERA in five career starts vs. Atlanta the most defeats by any opponent. With a win tonight, Hudson will be inducted into an elite Braves Fraternity that holds such members as John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and Phil Niekro. Hudson will be also included in a list of active pitchers with 200 wins along with Andy Pettitte and Roy Halladay. The Lights will be on, the camera's will be rolling and the action will be fierce on the field as Hudson tries again for the Atlanta and MLB Record Books. BOL Huddy. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
