Wednesday: 6-2, but Seattle looks like a loser, and the Angels likely- I don't see how their bullpen can keep this game close.

Oakland ML. One unit
Oakland-1 (+132). One unit. Milone has a couple of bad games vs. the Angels, but at home, and with his skills and smarts, he can tame the Angels. We have to stop thinking of the Angels as loaded with hitters and power. They aren't. Hamilton and Pujols are not the same, especially Hamilton. They have a few key hitters on the DL, and the bullpen is one of the worst. The AL is a bad place to have a weak bullpen. And they tend to sweep or get swept(the Mariners even won 3 out 4 vs. the Angels). CJ Wilson fits the bill as another overpaid Angel who will never fulfill the bucks he's getting. The A's are hitting LHP very well this year, and have seen CJ enough to know what to expect. The A's have as much an underrated lineup as the Angels is underrated. The A's might be on the verge of one of their surges. Also, a much better bullpen. At home vs. the hated Angels.

Tigers RL (-115). One unit. How did I lose that Monday game? Scott Diamond throws a straight fastball, and there's not much movement on any of his pitches. He does have very good command. But batters are hitting .364 so far this year. The Tigers have seen him many times, and will know when to lay off his low pitches. Diamond had to have the best stats last year with the least amount of stuff. He had a very high contact rate, a very low swing and miss rate, and that will catch up to you. The Twins have not see Sanchez much, and right now he is in a groove. He also can go deep into a game.

Baltimore ML -128. One unit
Baltimore -1 (+102) One unit. Seattle has a very tough time with lefties. Morales, Ackley, Ibanez, Saunders all struggle with them, and right now Chen is looking better than he has since joining the Orioles last year. He has always had command problems, but is showing progress. He has had all quality starts this year. Aaron Harang is hanging by a thread. He is only pitching because Beaven is worse. The pitching poor Rockies even refused to take him, and now his dimished velocity, poor command, and crappy pitches fool no one. He looks over weight and out of shape. He has been usually knocked around by the 3rd or 4th inning (2nd time through the order). Orioles bullpen fairly strong.

SD Ml -127. One unit
SD -1(+102) One unit. Padres have done this before- go on the road and begin to hit, and then hit for a week or more. This Padre lineup is not like last year's version, and have a little better power. I also can't seen how the Cubs will get much off Cashner or the very good SD bullpen. Since Feldman is about a 5-6 inning pitcher, the very bad Cub bullpen will come into play. Few Cubs have seen Cashner or not much of him. Cub lineup looks venerable today.

Orioles -1/2 (-105) First 5. 2 units. With Guiterrez on the DL(a righty) and Montero slumping(another righty), and Morse rolled off- Chen should out-duel Harang easily in the first 5.

Chicago White Sox ML (+107) One unit. This is a game where one pitcher is trending upward toward the excellence that really defines who they are as a pitcher (Sale), but his stats don't reflect it yet. And another pitcher(Tepesch) who has average stuff, and should be trending downward. Tepesch has very good composure, but is throwing fastballs 85-88, and will eventually have his stats even out vs. major league hitting. Sox got to Darvish yesterday, but their bullpen couldn't hold down the Rangers, which is unlike them.

Cubs bullpen is much stronger with Gregg, for now. I still like SD, not a Feldman fan.
