Are you a huge Kobe Bryant fan? Well starting next month you can bid on some extraordinary Kobe memorabilia. The sports collectables auction house Goldin Auctions will allow you to get your hands on one-of-kind Kobe treasures such as his No. 24 jersey from his freshman year at Pennsylvania’s Lower Merion High School. There are over 100 Kobe relics available and they span from his early childhood years all the way through his championship seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. The collection is international traveling all the way to Rieti, Italy, where Joe “Jellybean” Bryant played basketball from 1984 to 1992. That’s where Kobe’s No. 44 Rieti jersey hails from when he played basketball overseas. Other items that will be made available will be team-issued NBA championship rings he had made for his dad and mom, All-Star Game rings from 1998 and 2000, and even a Nickelodeon Teen Choice Award surfboard. All of the memorabilia were provided and consigned by Kobe’s mother Pamela Bryant and will be available to bid upon in June.

1) is kobe's mom broke or what?
2) did the lakers make team rings for any of the other players' parents? even asking them to do that is such an arrogant move on kobe's part...

I could never escape the feeling that he is a punk. Once he is retired I do not see him being popular.

Something is not right here with the Mom and all.... does she really need the Money ? and if so, why ??
The School that Kobe went to in a Philadelphia suburb is Not for the Poor... so they must have had some money at some point. Plus....
it's Kobe's Mom !

the article at ESPN makes it sound like she "Needed" the money to by a House ... WTF ??

His mom wanted a house in Nevada and Kobe offered to give her 250,000, she wanted 450,000. The articled claimed Kobe has giving his parents millions throughout the years.

The mom kept them in a $1500/month storage unit? You can rent a 2 bedroom apartment in new jersey for 1/2 that. I can't imagine those trophys and stuff taking up more than 1000 square feet.

It's a relatively small number but shows how stupid people can be with money, she was probably storing all kinds of crap she didn't need, never wore, etc etc

rumor in la is that they got into it and she is doing it out of spite. and for those of you saying he should be giving them money, thats not it either. there was in interview that is now a couple yeras old (cant remember the source) he said he wanted to buy his parents a big house, but his dad was too prideful to take his money.

he has also filed court papers to stop this auction.

She wanted ANOTHER house.

This auction house is in the next town over from me. Berlin NJ. Hes got about 3/4 of a million tied up in this. He will not go down without a fight. Friend of a friend said even if Koby offered him 3 million he wouldn't take it. The publicity for this Kobe auction has been way too much and he can retire off this.

Sad thing is that one of the card companies will buy those jerseys and cut them up.

Only a punk sues his mother. Those jerseys will drop in value once he retires a fades into douche bag oblivion. He will not be a popular ex-player.

"Bryant has given his parent millions of dollars in financial assistance throughout his 17 year career. They decided to sell his high school memorabillia without his consent to purchase an additional home." According to the source, when Kobe balked at buying a larger home than initially agreed upon, his mother struck the deal to sell his memorabilia.

Shub - dont take it personal. And I should probably keep it to myself. Sorry if I offended you. Kobe has given me a bad vibe from day 1. I wlll reseeve further judgement until his mom speaks... if she does at all. If. He sues his mother then he is what I think he is. I just dont like the guy. Good competitive player.. but nothing off court. Imo
