I saw the footage again within the past 10 days on DTV of the embassy being evacuated in remembrance of the 50 years since the final days of the Vietnam War. After the Manson Family Murders the Peace Love and Happiness generation seemed to fizzle out or maybe just burned out while bombings in Cambodia and Laos steadily increased. The Civil Rights Movement combined with Anti War and other social movements meeting head strong vs stubborn Government Officials during the mid to late 1960's would only result in civil unrest and unfortunately violence. A very turbulent time in US History and sadly with all the complicated situtations surrounding the politics, strategy and tactics of the Vietnam War there could never have been a happy ending to the entire era.
