Sure you can get them from any local (if they would give them to you) using an offshore pph service. In all my years In the Biz. I've only had a few people play them. Takes some balls to play action points.

I used to plays these a lot... But it's been a while.

heres the thing... I've never seen it offered "online" ... Meaning you will have to call and ask. If they offer it, again you will need to phone in these bets.

what exactly is "action pts"?

A per point bet often with a cap

Usually used in basketball

Say the Knicks played the Suns and the suns were a 2.5 point favorite and you want the Knicks +2.5 .

Your book might let you bet $20 a point or more off that number and cap it at 20 points or so,,,, so that is is $400 bet + the vig for $440 if you lose the max, so you need that posted up or on credit.

$20 for every point away from the spread in this example.

Never bet an under with this because of possible ot.

It does take pelotas to bet this way, but I used to love it at the Greek !

Thanks Guys.

WSEX used to offer them. Haven't seen any online for a long time. I love them. Minimizes risk if you're sharp. ;)

Always figured no post up books offered this because your loss could potentially be anything and the book wouldn't want to take it not knowing if your account t could pay it off if things went really bad (say, your bet lost by 40+ points). But I didn't think about capping the number. Then, it would make sense as the books would know exactly how much could be won and lost. Surprised all books don't offer this with a cap.

Having said all that, thank God my book didn't have these bets while I was in college. Things could get ugly real quick.

In the early days of 5dimes (late 90's or thereabouts) they offered action points online. Can't remember the last time it was offered.

the money had to be there to bet it ( Greek mainly) you phoned in the bet and it had to be approved. If you wanted $50 a point capped at 20 points for a max $1,000 win you needed $1100 in your account which would be taken out until the bet settled. I don't see why you couldn't do it on credit, but that bet takes up $1100 of your limit even though it likely settles within 5 points of the line.
