History tells us, we are an advanced set of people, especially over time. So, we are not a new breed from a different planet, we are the same ones that invented the wheel, the airplane, and computer chips, but mostly over a long period of time.

Its also been said, we are only using 10 percent of our brains, so, what is it that kept our brains from inventing the computer chip in the day of the wheel, and only a few years back, why are we "chipping" away slowly on our advancements, and not a more rapid pace. We are of course the same human beings right??

I must say, over the last 20 years, we have picked up the pace, but, why now and not before. And I must say, Its quite evident, that the next 25 years is gonna be two fold I believe.

1. Great advancement in technology
2. Great demise in our social society, morals are out the door right now, the olders folks will tell ya that it was the norm if you entered a place or passed someone on the street, it was a "good morning" or "good afternoon" but, most people dont say a damn thing, and thats just the beginning in the demise. That would be for another dicsussion.

could have said this in 1980, 1960, 1940, 1920, or 1900.... no different.

Can't believe we still drive cars fueled by the same thing as 100 years ago....... (must be the money)

5teamparlay, the fuel situation is a hugeeeeeeeeee money business, there are stories of invented alternatives, and persons being "paid off", the trickle down effects of the money trail on oil is so huge its what "keeping" us back.

Start with guessing how many Service stations are in the USA, and how many direct or indirect employment there is from it.
And then see how many "other" uses there are from products from oil and gas.

And sadly enough, there are places that a filled with so much fog or otherwise from smoke, gas, etc that people leave their homes everyday wearing masks.

We have the ability to make everlasting batteries and the companies are forbid to make them.. if things ran on forever batteries we would need no fuel for anything. The technology exists and is not permitted to be used.

We use all of our brains not 10%. Also how can we have invented computer chips in the days of the wheel? You can't just skip all the events that led up to it.

kingofnicotine, im thinking more on, why didnt we know about this in that era, but I do understand, from one advancement we learn and advance to another, just saying wish I happened faster.

However, If you follow the advancements from where we were, it SHOULD tell us that, the FUTURE is going to crazzzyyyy.

As it is right now, because of the step by step process, just look at the cell phone, all of us can remember like yesterday what the cell phone of 1990 was, to today what it has become.

Available information and the ease of sharing it has caused the exponential advances. Most huge breakthroughs are created by many rather than just one. Without being able to find "teammates" easily who had specific expertise limited technological advances greatly. Now you can contact anyone in the world via live video instantly. This is obvious and has been said many times (the book The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman discusses at length), but just figured I'd throw it out there.

Dont know why you say the pace is the same.
We have made more advancements in the last hundred years then all the years before that combined.
