I don't know how many of you read Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer, but its now a movie! The IceMan It just came out.

I never finished the audiobook, 20+ hours, and very dark, chilling, gruesome book. Unfortunately the book had it short comings, like it repeated itself constantly. I finally just gave up on finishing it but I did want to know how it ended.

Go watch
The IceMan

Check it out! We had to go to one of those small, indie type of movie theater to watch it. But it's very good. Even the wife liked it and she's not a movie person. Overall, it tells the story. It's much less dark and twisted than the book, and think it somewhat fails to capture Richie's personality. but highly recommend.

He was basically a serial killer with the perfect job. The guy who plays him, Michael Shannon, also play Agent Van Alden on Boardwalk Empire, another twisted character.

the interview/documentary with the real guy, called the iceman, is on all the time and worth watching. you hit it on the head 'very dark, chilling, gruesome" made all the more disturbing cause its real, he shows no feeling at all.

There are interviews of him on Youtube.

Sammy the Bull Gravano was another one of these types. A former co-worker read his book and the main thing he got out of it was that Sammy enjoyed giving other people pain.

I played pool (9-ball) with the "Ice Man" in the 70's, not knowing what he did for a living. Google him and watch all his confessions and his life story, pretty amazing. Devoted family man by day. He met a mob guy one day and told him he wanted to do jobs for him. He took him for a ride and stopped the car and told Klukinski to walk up to that guy walking his dog and shoot him. He asked do you know him? The guy said no, Klukinski walks past the guy walking the dog, turns and shoots him in the head killing him. Loved his wife and kids though.

I gotta be honest, I don't understand the fascination with these murderers. This guy was a piece of shit to humanity so they make a movie and books to glorify him.

There's a segment of the population that idolizes these pieces of shit. Some are even in this thread.

I think people are curious about what makes these people tick. As for this guy, I'm sure he's not the first gangster to be a stone cold killer and to go home to a normal family life. The Mafia is good at seperating their personal lives from their jobs. Make a hit on Saturday night, and take their good catholic family to church on Sunday. Just say a few hail mary's and all is forgiven.

People love the anti-hero

Why Tony Soprano, Avon Barksdale and Walter White are some of the most revered TV characters of all time.

Klukinski shot a guy in his adams apple just to see how long before he would die. He made a bet with someone $50 on how long it would take. Klukinski lost that bet because it took a couple minutes. Wonder if his kids inherited his psycho gene like he did from his father? Scarey to sat the least.
