Why do I keep seeing people spell the words "night" and "doughnut" incorrectly?

Or even the word "tonight?"

I keep reading people spell them "nite" "donut" and "tonite."

Am I missing something?

The dictionary says "doughnut" but I have to think Dunkin' Donuts isn't helping Americans spell correctly.

I think using Donut is used because of dunkin donuts, Krispy Kreme donuts and Mister donut

Their & There & They're....Your & You're....a very commonly fucked up. When it's just once in a long post, it was likely a mistake...when the person types an entire paragraph and fucks it up repeatedly it's plain ignorance. Also, "a lot" is two words (not "alot")....this gets fucked up A LOT!

Believe it or not, people mistake "lose" for "loose." Not even the same word or meaning.

Dude, it's easy if you think of it this way.

Their means possession. "Their truck is black."
There means location. "The dog ran over there."

That's it.

Thats why.. End thread.

Eh, 13-year-old or 18-year-old, it doesn't matter right?

If you want to keep coming in my threads and being a douche because of something that was said months ago, I'm going to remind all the posters here each time you do it that you have willingly taken advantage of underage girls and made no apologies.

Doesn't bother me either. I'm not reading a medical journal or a history text on therx. I'm of the opinion that some people probably don't know any better, but a lot probably just don't care either. However, I'm also of the opinion that if your job requires a lot of business writing and every post on here has multiple errors, your coworkers are probably talking shit.

Good points. I was more or less referring to writing outside of the RX.

I'm not going to lie, I am pretty sure I thought the correct spelling was 'donut' (most likely because of Dunkin Donuts, etc) but the good news is I have never misspelled the word, b/c I can't think of a instance of ever writing the word.
