How does everyone handle tailgaters when driving? Had one this morning...

Driving to work out of my neighborhood in a school zone going about 28 in a 25 so nothing out of realm of normal. Have a jacked up pickup behind me where I can't even see his headlights anymore cause he is so close. This went on for like 3 blocks so I give him the 2 hands in the air basically saying wtf?

This gets him to come closer than before so I give him the slam on the brakes a couple times.

We come to the main road where I live, 2 lanes and he zoomed up next to me, he's a little backward scuzball, see's me rolling down my windows takes one look at me and thinks better of it and drives off.

So long story short, I usually just ignore as road rage isn't usually my thing and don't feel like being a youtube sensation.

What's everyone else do? Ever been in a road side fight? I have once...

I either slow down to like 15 below what ever the limit is or is speed up and then give them a "brake check"

Depends on which car we are in. My wife's Jag has a switch that brightens the tail lights to make them more visible in bad conditions, if you flick them on during the day it looks like you hit your brakes without actually doing it. Much safer than the brake check just because you don't know if the asshole behind you can actually drive worth a fvck and will not rear end you if you hit your brakes.

In my Explorer I will do like Ham above, slow way the fvck down just to piss them off more.

Had a scumbag doing this to me in Texas, let him pass me and then ran him off the road into a wet ditch......................stopped to make sure he was ok, then drove off flipping him the bird.

Throw a pipe wrench out the window straight up in the air it hits dead center into their windshield. It slows them down.

I turn on my windshield wipers and keep pressing the button for the washer fluid. Eventually he will have to turn his windshield wipers on and will eventually back off or go around.

Haha that's a good one.

Personally I either ignore them, or if they are really pushing it hard such that it pisses me off I will slow down to a crawl. Love looking in the rearview and seeing them getting madder and madder.

lol, I once got puddled on campus (a popular practice of driving into a puddle next to walkers where you soak them). All I had in my hand was an unopened energy drink and out of reaction I instantly launched it at the back windshield of the Jeep Cherokee that puddled me. Sadly, it didn't bust it, but it did crack it at least.

Moved to Texas 3 1/2 years ago, hands down the worst tailgaters in the country, especially the rednecks driving their oversized pickup trucks. Have seen more road rage here than all other cities I have lived in combined. Once saw a pick up truck go racing after a lady in a minivan that was only trying to merge into traffic.

How does everyone handle tailgaters when driving? Had one this morning...
