Pit has had some crazy weather this week,, and this afternoon they are on a rain delay,,

Just curious if there is a nominal % either way? It seems like it might favor the pitchers? they have to keep their arms warm,, I get that,, but in that same time wouldnt it be harder for the batters to stay warm>?

hmm,,,
any thoughts?

I have always wondered as well.

I think batters dont need to stay warm as much. They can play double headers, come back after long rain delays and go day in day out. Pitchers if they rest for too long cannot come back in the game. If they get warm and have to wait it might really mess up the arm and mental aspect of the game.

However, when it is raining the umpires usually just want to GTFO and expand the strike zone which probably balances it out (and more)....i tend to like unders in rain delayed games.

It affects pitching if the starting pitcher is a Verlander or others and can't continue
