Atlanta 28-18 posted back to back sweeps with a six winning streak outscoring opponents 34-16 in that stretch but now must improve in their road play where the Braves have dropped 13 of 19 this season with a .152 average with Runners In Scoring Position. New York has struggled at home however with a 9-15 Home Record and are looking to avoid a 7th straight home loss tonight and have lost 11 of 13 at Citi Field overall and have been outscored 36-14 in last six games at home. Medlen is 1-5 3.02 ERA and has the second lowest Run Support in MLB at 2.38 Runs Per Game. The Braves have lost seven of Medlens last starts however Medlen is 1.47 ERA in three starts vs. New York. Medlen allowed one Earned Run in seven Innings Pitched last time out but did not factor in the decision. Hefner is 0-5 5.00 and New York has lost all of Hefner's eight starts this season. Hefner allowed four Runs in four Innings Pitched last time out and in his only matchup with Atlanta allowed five Runs in three Innings Pitched. Evan Gattis has 10 HR's 27 RBI's on the season and Atlanta must find ways to keep Gattis in the lineup. Ike Davis is mired in a 1 for 38 slump and Wright and Murphy are 4 for 30 vs. Medlen. This series will be a test of Atlanta's overall present game to prove if Atlanta can get the job done in opponent ballparks. The key to that success will be Run Support for starting pitching and improving and capitalizing on opportunites with Runners in Scoring Position. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
