Yawn... another "I am an atheist and I hate Christians and God" thread.

Why don't you post this in your thread you started last week (with the same shit you posted in here a million times before) that
immediately got sent to the rubber room.

If there is a god, our petty little lives mean very little, do we care if tragedies befall an ant colony?

Rather the question is: “If God does not exist, do objective moral values exist?” Like Ruse, I don’t see any reason to think that in the absence of God, the herd morality evolved by homo sapiens is objective. After all, if there is no God, then what’s so special about human beings? They’re just accidental by-products of nature which have evolved relatively recently on an infinitesimal speck of dust lost somewhere in a hostile and mindless universe and which are doomed to perish individually and collectively in a relatively short time. On the atheistic view, some action, say, rape, may not be socially advantageous and so in the course of human development has become taboo; but that does absolutely nothing to prove that rape is really wrong. On the atheistic view, there’s nothing really wrong with your raping someone. Thus, without God there is no absolute right and wrong which imposes itself on our conscience.

This was in the link. Not sure how you can say as a society we need a God to tell us what is objectively right and wrong.

I personally think by not being insane we can do that. How can't you have objective moral values without the belief in a higher power?
I don't believe in God really, doesn't mean I'm gonna go harm people for gain as long as I can get away with it.

God's a non-interventionist, like us libertarians. Al though many will falsely assume it as isolationism, or not caring.

I like Ricky Gervais but enough with the atheism. I'm an atheist but these people that are constantly going on about it are boring.

Option D. Christianity is the religion of middle class white people who are born in America. The whole thing is an epic joke. I just shake my head every time I see a "pray for Oklahoma" sign around here...here's an idea guys - why don't you actually go do something instead of soothing your own ego by thinking you actually did something useful.

Agree with this in a sense, people who mask religion as a substitute for true self-improvement/productivity are brainwashed idiots. Praying away your problems so to speak...

However, a lot of churches and religious groups do a lot of positive things that help aid in the recovery of disasters. As well as do a lot for the less fortunate in general..
