Who's with me?

Create goals, workout or eating.

What is your desired outcome....

Check in once a week in this thread, how you are doing...

Myfitnesspal buddies anyone? If you don't know that's an app where you track your calories.... I found it very useful... Also using it to track my work outs, and amount of water I drink...

Goal:

Drink 1 gallon of water a day, including drinking 16 oz of water before eating a meal

Eat less than 1725 calories a day (up to one cheat day per week)

Cardio 3 times a week
Strength 1-2 times a week

In 10 weeks my goal is to lose 20lbs.

Reward: If I do, I'm rewarding myself with buying good seats to the Broncos vs Ravens game, its the Thursday NIght Regular season kick off game.. tickets are running $400/ticket lower level right now. Hopefully to find around $300

good luck defying! 15-20 lbs in 10 weeks is a very achievable goal...anything more is unwarranted. if you can swing it, bump up those cardio days to 4-5 and on muscular strength/endurance training days try some circuits with minimal rest in between exercises - get that HR up. you got this!

My weight on Jan 1st was 314, I am now down to 256 and my goal is 200. I had Bi-lateral hip replacements and the a third revision/replacement on the right side and gained 80lbs over a three year period. Decided I was going to get rid of the damn weight ... Half way there! :103631605

Believe it or not, I've lost a little more than 20lbs over the last 6 months by not eating anything past 5 o'clock. I was about 208 now im around 185ish. I don't work out really other than what I do at work. And I only get about 5 hours of sleep a night so that may have something to do with it also

Lost 8lbs. in two weeks

This is because I can be a Junk eater ... bread, cookies, cake, Pizza, Candy ( Choc ) , dry roasted peanuts, etc.

When I Stop all the"Whites" and stop with the others.. I drop weight like nothing.

Strength is nothing... but can't do too much otherwise I will put the pounds back ( even though it would be muscle, and not fat )
I usually wait until I lose about 20

I need more Cardio ... and I would be fine

Muscle won't make you lose weight but weight training one of it not the best way to lose fat.

That's what I said....if I did too much Strengt/weights, it would just add pounds ( muscle, not Fat ) and muscle weighs more than Fat

That's why I need more Cardio

don't think it's a Secret Mob

and that's the problem with probably 70% of people, not enough Fiber in their diet
yea even weight watchers gives you credit for eating more fiber.. they charge less pts towards your daily allowance so its definitely not a secret.

Fiber is far from a secret....And just like anything else, too much of it can be a bad thing.

One of the hardest things about losing weight is keeping the pounds off once you've reached your goal. A couple of years ago, I had to lose weight or go on meds. I came to the sad realization that for me, the only way to lose was to change my eating lifestyle. I cut way back on alcohol, sweets, chips, bread . . .Anyhow, I went from 200 to 170. I'd like to lose another 15, but not sure I'll make it as I still gotta be bad once in a while.

EVERY diet out there includes a "bad once in awhile" feature. Should be once a week. If not, it won't work.

All the good diets have cheat Days, once a week.

and yes, the biggest, worst problem is once you go off the Diet... BostonBettor has it 100% right. You just need to change how you eat.

also small portions ... or Smaller portions...

a little trick for your mind..... Most dinner plates are 11" or 12" in diameter ... use a 9" plate

The number 1 cause of increasing obesity in America is Portion Size...
