5/30/13:

After a one-hour rain delay, Cardinals pitching prospect Michael Wacha made his major-league debut on Thursday night at Busch Stadium.

Wacha retired the side in order in the first, striking out Alex Gordon, getting Alcides Escobar to ground out to short and then David Lough to fly out to left. It was an efficient 11-pitch inning for Wacha, who drew big ovations when he walked out to right field to warm up before the game and then when he walked back.

He followed that with a 1-2-3 inning in the second, with a strikeout and two infield outs and then struck out two in the third. Through three innings, he has four strikeouts and has allowed no hits. He's thrown 35 pitches and is working at a good speed as rain continues to threaten the game. Umbrellas are open at the moment with a light rain falling at Busch. This should pass, but stronger rain is possible later.

I may be way off on this one but don't they revert back to whatever the score was at the end of the last full inning and call the game at that score provided it wasn't tied? That is, if this happens in the 6th or later...

Official Game: A baseball (side) bet becomes official for betting purposes after 5 innings of play or 4.5 innings if the home team has the lead. Should a game be suspended, the winning side is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called. Bets get refunded if the hometeam ties the game and then it goes into suspension. Suspended games become no action if they have to stop and start up the next day.
