Even with most sports fans attention on the big Game Seven between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals tonight, two starting MLB Pitchers are hoping to end winless streaks if they could just get some Run Support. Kris Medlen is 1-6 3.48 ERA and is 0-5 3.93 ERA since April 9th only receiving 15 runs in those starts. Medlen is 1-1 4.08 ERA in three starts vs. Pittsburgh and will look to provide Atlanta a quality outing tonight at Turner Field. AJ Burnett 3-5 2.72 ERA and looks to break a five game winless streak receiving only six runs of support in that time frame. Burnett is 1-6 3.62 ERA in the last 10 vs. Atlanta only receiving 10 runs of support in those contests and 0-6 4.44 ERA in last nine starts in Atlanta. Burnett is 1-8 4.88 ERA in 12 career games in this matchup receiving three runs or fewer in those contests as well. BJ Upton finally may be starting to put bat to ball contributing for Atlanta but has 17 K's off Burnett and tonight may be a good measurement to see if Upton is on the upswing. Pittsburgh won this series matchup earlier this season at Pittsburgh so Atlanta is looking for a little pay back over the next few days. Run Support will be key in this series particularly in tonight's game with Medlen and Burnett. Both teams come into tonight winning one and 6-4 Last 10 so fans may be in for a tit for tat game until someone comes up big from their respective team. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.

Pirates have second stingiest team in National League allowing 3.4 Runs Per Game. Pittsburgh pitching strikes out second most opponents in National League with 8.1 K's per game. Braves batters strike out most in National League with 9.1 K's per game. Atlanta is 2-6 SU last eight vs. Pittsburgh. Under is four of six last six when Pittsburgh plays on the road vs. Atlanta.

McCutchen may not be in lineup tonight for Pittsburgh according to USA Today Preview. Still trying to confirm or deny this information.

Pittsburgh 5-16 Last 21 Monday Games. Atlanta 12-4 Last 16 Games Overall. Today the focus will be Atlanta - 121 with Burnett's numbers in this matchup and a speedy McCutchen on the sideline tonight.

Wow Russell Martin and Clint Hurdle ejected for arguing balls and strikes. Can't remember seeing a catcher being tossed at least in a very long time. 2-1 Atlanta after four complete innings.
