The Atlanta Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates have a 12:10 PM EST start time today and the Pirates look to Wandy Rodriquez to avoid a sweep. Rodriquez is 6-3 3.47 ERA on the season but is 3-2 1.58 ERA in his last nine outings vs. Atlanta. Simmons for Atlanta has a ten game hit streak going with a .356 average but will be challenged to keep that streak alive if Rodriquez is as tough today in this matchup as in past matchups. Atlanta's Teheran is 3-2 3.71 ERA and will be challenged by Alvarez who is 7 for 19 with 2 HR's and 4 RBI's in last five games at Turner Field. McCutchen is 5 for 12 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI's so Teheran will look to keep a speedy McCutchen off the base pads as well. Teheran is 3-2 2.49 ERA in his last seven starts and coming off a career high nine K's outing and will look to provide the Braves a Home Sweep. BJ Upton finally is contributing for Atlanta but will have to continue to do so as Atlanta relies on a total team effort. Atlanta left many runners straned last night as the Braves squeaked out an extra inning win but will have to capitalize on every scoring opportunity vs. a tough Rodriquez today. Atlanta will also need to clean up the defensive play as errors in the field led to extened innings last night allowing unearned Pittsburgh runs. The key to this lunch time game will be Teheran's capability of continuing his excellent peformances of the last month and Atlanta's finding a remedy of Roriquez's dominance in this matchup in past outings.
