Oakland Athletics vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee currently sits in last place in the NL Central & has the third worst record in MLB. They have lost 24 of their last 32 games. Yesterday, the top slugger that they have put their future in was accused of more PED issues. Now, whether all this ever sticks is not the point. The point is it is more bad news for a team that is slowly becoming a NL laughing stock. While they did manage to pull a win out last night by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game and eventually win it in 10. Last night they scored 3 in the 8th & 1 in the 10th, only because the game went on. The night before they scored 2 in one frame, and on Sunday they scored 4 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th after Philadelphia had taken a 7-0 lead. My point is that this team is exactly clicking offensively, and that is their strong side. It certainly isn't their starting rotation, whom has the worst ERA in all of baseball at 5.58. Yovani Gollardo will take the mound today. He was better last time out, however, that still leaves him with a 1-5 record & 5.97 ERA over his last 6 starts.

Oakland will counter with Bartolo Colon who has a 6-2 record and a very respectable 3.33 ERA. Despite last nights loss the A's are still 10 games over .500 and have won 15 of 18 behind solid starting pitching and a solid offense led by Yoenis Cespedes. Cespedes had 2 HR on Tuesday and is now 5-10 on the series. Milwaukee is struggling and Oakland will look to take another series in their quest to catch Texas for the division lead. Oakland -105
