Joe Namath - Career completion percentage of just 50.1, 163 TDs and 220 INTs and only 4 300 yard passing games. The guy just wasn't that good.

Lynn Swann - Never had a 1,000 receiving year. In fact, never even had a 900 yard year. 51 total TDs? Most receptions in a year was only 61. Are you shitting me?

Terry Bradshaw - Career completion percentage of just 51.9%. 212 TDs and 210 picks. Threw for 3,000 yards in just 2 of his 14 year career. Had he not won Superbowls, Bradshaw wouldn't have made it.

I agree with #1 and #2

Namath in the HOF is a complete joke.
He would have had a hard to starting for the 2012 NY Jets.

As far as baseball I have a hard time coming up with anyone because MLB is so strict.
I can name a bunch of players that are not in that should be in.

The NFL is full of players in the HOF that should not be that played on great teams.

Basketball, I dont have enough knowledge to answer the question

Bradshaw played great when it counted but as you look at his career numbers, he is not HOF worthy IMO. Look at Swann's career numbers. His highest number of receptions in one year was only 61. Who was throwing to Swann?

agreed.. bradshaw won 4 superbowls.. how could he not be hall of fame worthy?

Let me repeat this statistic. TB threw for more than 3,000 yards only twice in 14 years as an NFL QB. What is his career QB rating you ask? It's an amazing 70.9.

liek that saying goes .. statistics are for losers. I get offended every time I hear it but it makes sense actually. If you base everything on just statistics then you aren't taking into consideration the entire picture.

Marino is the greatest QB all time but no rings. Go figure

Is Robert Horry HOF worthy?

if he was a starter during his career then I would say yes. ... being that he was a big shot (even though significant mins) off the bench.. I am of course not so sure..

Stats are what we judge a player's greatness by. It's just the way it is.

Guys like Bradshaw that win big games in the clutch deserve and way out weigh guys like Biggio & Bagwell who people clamor for because of longivity.. Guys like this have #'s , but was he either a impact player ?..... hell no.. I know I'm comparing football and baseball but just making the point that #'s don't tell the story.. I tend to back Namath also... I'm sure Comp. % was alot lower back in the day with the way the passing rules are written today....

If someone took a poll about Bradshaw and the HOF, how do you think it would go even with you repeating the stats ?

Wouldn't you agree though that Bradshaw was an average QB that just played on great teams? Had his teams not been good, he would not be in the HOF.

Don't forget, in the 70s they still ran the ball. Passing stats weren't inflated like in today's NFL. And the Steelers had a very good running game. Granted Bradshaw's comp % was pedestrian, but man did he throw one hell of a long ball.

All I can do is think about my opinion and how I'd vote. A guy with a career QBR at 70 and threw for 3,000 yards only twice in 14 years? Those numbers are not HOF worthy IMO only.

I understand that point completely. But when he dropped back to throw, he didn't complete his passes consistently.
