Goto best buy and look at the tvs yourself(sounds like models even 2-3 yrs older is fine for you).. then go online amazon/slickdeals.net/etc and search for lowest price (possibly will take 1-2 months to find ..closer to thanksgiving is best :) )

If you really want older models (since no smart/3d/etc) you can find clearance at costco's / walmart / best buy/ amazon / etc - this will allow you to get good brand like samsung for the same price as a newer vizio (with smart apps) - so its your choice what brand (IMO vizio is very solid for the value)

Rereading you thread.
if smart TV and all that is not important go to ebay and look up pioneer kRP 600m.
It will be used and 4 years old but its still the best tv in the world.
I have one and would not trade it for anything. It's still going to cost you over 2k for this used set but its better them anything you can buy in a store.

google it

i have a 46" samsung in one of my other rooms and its mounted on the wall and i love it.the one in my living room is a sony 55" but the projection lamp message is poping up again and im not replacing it,i already replaced it once and it cost half as much as getting a new tv.

but im hearing about these plasma tv's and especially panasonic ones so that is why im inquiring about this.i hear that there is some adjustment period with the led tv and some say once you get used to it its fine.im not sure what they mean by getting used to it,..

Hard to pass up a 47" Vizio for $398

Walmart.com has 47" Vizio M470VSE 120Hz 1080p WiFi Smart LED HDTV for $398 + free shipping.

i also agree with them.as I said if you don't want the used pioneer a new Panasonic is your best bet. And plasma is still the king.

They might mean the switch to 120Hz - it can make film-based content look like video, essentially. It's hard to describe, but imagine movies looking like soap operas (in terms of the picture). On some sets you can turn the "feature" off, and others you can't.

If your room has a lot of windows and you will have a lot of natural sunlight, I'd advise against plasma due to glare. I'd go LED regardless myself. Have both actually Panasonic plasma and LG LED. The LED picture is great.

but what is this that people are telling me about the LED's,you will get use to it after a while, meaning the picture.is there something different about it that you must adjust to?

Plasmas fair poorly in stores compared to LCD and led. But in most cases the plasma will look better in your house .
