I read articles on occasion and it seems people really get angry when these things get installed.

I personally don't see the big deal. As long as you obey the traffic laws, no worries.

Maybe I'm in the minority?

Like big brother hasn't stolen away enough of our rights already !

I'm fucking glad I'm old enough to die before this becomes a total police state.

The gov't already records every phone call you make and receive, probably every email you send or receive. They can identify you by just your face when you walk into a store. They can spy on you and kill you with a tiny drone plane....

and you want to give then more power ?

Doug, what is your opinion on what they do with images from these speed cameras?

And can you clarify something for me? What does the government have to do with cameras in a private store? Those cameras are for store security no?

Annoying, it slows everyone down below normal speed cause nobody wants a ticket. Also annoying as whats the big deal if im speeding as long as it is with the flow of traffic

I may be wrong but don't they actually conduct studies on zones and set the speed limit based on the research results? I guess the speed limits are set for a reason?

you never know when these camera's may help you out also.say in an accident the other driver is saying something to protect him from being at fault and the camera shows different in your favor.we always think of the defensive part of it and not the positive one

Good point keyman. In the UK they always have warning signs before the speed cameras that tell you one is coming up. I guess I feel if you get a warning from a sign and you're still speeding then it's kind of your fault.

They ain't doing anything to help you with camera tickets.

Most speed limits are a good 5-10 mph too low ....so anybody going a proper speed can be ticketed at any time.

You can't even walk around a major city without the gov't being able to tell who you are.

FUCK THE USA !

free country, my (__*__) !

Doug, what I guess i'm asking is how you think the federal government benefits from images produced on a speed camera?

It has changed into a totally non-free country since the "Patriot Act" Soon you will have a micro-chip implanted in your body at birth, like people do with their pets now. USA= China for freedom.

Try depositing into your Pinnacle account, or do you dare risk having money in any book as a Gringo ?

Is this attitude towards the U.S. because you can't make a deposit in a gambling account? Kind of curious is all.

Thankfully, here in Mn we dont have speed cameras, also sobriety checkpoints are also banned. They need a legitimate reason to pull you over. When they say cameras are not about the money, the simple solution is to say, ok, you can have your cameras, you just wont get a single cent of the proceeds...watch how interested they are in having them.

Don't like it. People that cut you off with little room, and trying to exit from the fast lane with less than a quarter mile from their turnoff are much more dangerous.
