Man, this place is amazing! You feel like you are in Las Vegas or something like that, not in CR. I love CR, but this was a nice change. The food is frikn amazing, service is on hit and the view is excellent. Everything is from CR, from the chocolate to the pork. Nothing imported (except alcohol, I am sure).

I hit up the casino, then enjoyed dinner and drinks (jalapeno, guayabana cocktail? really?).

Top of the new Sheraton Hotel in Escazu. Highly recommend it!

VD,

There is a new casino downstairs, so only a matter of time. As for waitresses/staff...there are a couple. On that note...if anyone knows any servers who speak English and Spanish, and give GREAT service...they are hiring, I was told. Sorry, got no contact info...

Went several times before they opened to see if they were open yet. Last night I saw the lights, can't wait to grab some grub there.

My buddy is one of the majority partners of this place, and its his vision and concept as well. Never once heard a complaint about the food, but the changeover from Sonesta to Sheraton means certain ladies of the nite are not received with ope arms.

We were talking about this the other nite over rum, and the question revolved around this: What is the intercontinental´s policy about said certain ladies............your thoughts?

Viejo, I have no idea about rates.

Nobody cares about the food. A casino with discrimination against hookers is a sure fire way to ensure that the place remains a ghost town.

At this point in time, "ladies of the night" are permitted at a steep $60 per night. I disagree with Hangman regarding the food. It's important to attract non hotel customers and helps get your franchise noticed locally. The Starwood Group is not dumb, but lets understand where this hotel/casino is located. Escazu is not known for hosting to many public puta outings outside the White House. Marriages to puta's is a different story though.

I disagree with the food comment. Wayyyyy back when we used to watch football at Fiesta Casino because when compared to all other destinations with the same variety of games, the food was just better. Any "Vegas Style" place (as people are calling it....I haven't seen photos or been there since it openen to know if that's true at all) that has good food has a chance of sticking around. However, the anti-ho policy bothers me. As doughboy said in Boyz in the Hood "Ho's gotta eat too."

Wow. $60 to enter the joint? Or $60 for someone to take them to their room? Either way, definitely steep.

Take a look at Intercontinental any time a rock band, politician, or other a, b, or c list celebrity stays here. There are always working girls abundant. And you are right, if it's acceptable for a gringo to marry one and parade around Escazu like some baller, why can't they enjoy casino's when they are single, trying to get married?

$60 to "enter" your "date" into the room - oh yeah, diggity diggity!
