Information on getting into Law School?

Both of my bosses have law degrees as well as all their financial certifications. They have been trying to sell me on law school lately. They have peaked my interest since I don't want to be a financial salesman (which is essentially what we are) my whole life and i am an academic at heart. I graduated with 3 majors and a 3.87 GPA from a top 10-20 undergrad business school (depending on who you talk to) but I don't know the first thing about LSAT prep time or the different "tiers" of law school and how important going to a good one is. Also, I am already 27 so I'm not sure if it would be smart to do this now when I wouldn't be graduating until I am in my 30's. I would greatly appreciate any insight from someone who knows something about it.

Did you even read the original post? All it basically was, was a brag post meriting his GPA, degrees from top 10-20 business schools (depending on who you talk to), etc.

Just another attempt to pad his online rep that he so eagerly wants to build.

You're young. Approaching 30 for some guys seems like a big deal, but at 27 you're really still a kid! I'd say go for it. If you just want to get a law degree look into a part time program. If you can afford to take 3 years off work and go to school fulltime, go for it.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of lawyers....but I guess it all depends on what you do with the degree.

If you want test prep help just ask around and you can probably find what the best test prep is for law school (I know for MBA it is veritas but each discipline is different)

props to coachCb for putting your age in perspective as well. 27 is nothing man, never too late to do something but BTD is right make sure you are doing it for the right reasons otherwise you'll be miserable.

Many CEOs have law degrees. Are you interested in practicing law, if not then it won't matter if you go tier 1 or 2 as much. If you plan to practice law and don't get into a tier 1, don't bother going to law school.

As for starting your own practice in your hometown, you get a lazy job with a decent salary and you get to be your own boss. I have a lot of friends that are lawyers and none of them are happy. I think it isn't what it's cracked up to be. They all thought they would change the world by arguing in front of the jury. What they actually are is high priced secretaries.
