Hats of to Madison Bumgarner who sliced and diced up the Atlanta Lineup last night on the way to a San Fransico Game One 6-0 win. Atlanta is looking to avoid a season worse fifth consecutive loss today and the Braves will turn to Mike Minor to get back in the win column. Minor is 8-2 2.44 ERA overall on the season and an impressive 5-0 1.76 ERA in last seven starts overall with 47 K's in 46 Innings Pitched. Minor is also 7-0 1.94 ERA vs. National League Opponents and Minor's major task today will be stopping a San Fransico offense who has plated 42 Runs in last six games despite having some key players sidelined with injury. Gregor Blanco, Hunter Pence and Buster Posey have not missed a step contributing for San Fransico so far in this series so Minor will look to get these key outs today. Atlanta's offense however has been stagnate and inactive recently scoring only five Runs in last three games going 4 for 25 with Runners In Scoring Position. Jason Heyward was .395 during a 10 game Hitting Streak but was 0-4 Friday Night. Justin Upton is .190 with only one HR and 2 RBI's over last 16 games. BJ Upton has the MLB worst .159 after going 0-8 in the past two games. Gaudin is 2-1 2.30 ERA for San Fransico and has won both of his last starts after trasitioning into the rotation. Gaudin has 12 K's and only one BB in last two outings but is 0-1 7.78 ERA in 13 career appearances with one start vs. Atlanta. Uggla is 4 for 12 with 2 HR's vs. Gaudin. A disappointing performance by Atlanta last night vs. a very sharp Bumgarner sets the stage for Mike Minor to come to the rescue for Atlanta today. Minor has the strikeout pitch and the command and control to keep baserunners to a minimum but will also need run support from an Atlanta offense who is fastly approaching shit or get off the pot time. San Fransico has won four straight in this matchup since Mid May of this year so Minor's major goal today will be to break that trend. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
