Surprised nobody talking about this on here..

This is a huge blessing for the celts, no point in having Doc here to rebuild, and Doc wants no part of dealing with that punk Rondo as the main guy.

Supposedly deal falling apart, celts want to much.

Id do any deal in a second getting anything for kg and Doc..

As an avid Celtics fan, I'd hate to see Doc go - but would be glad to see KG and Pierce go, they're washed up.

I hope a deal goes through to get some young blood in Boston.

agree... This is a steal for celtics. Not sure why Doc getting so much heat over this. Green teamers can't let the fact go that it's over and has been over. Why pay Doc 7 mil s year for team that has no chance of winning. Nobody coaches in one place forever, 9 years an eternity in that league.

It is going to take a while to rebuild this team.. even if they all stay..no one will have faith in eachother

I saw today that talks have fallen through...

Have no idea why Clippers would trade for a coach when George Karl is available, one of the very best in the game, and has interested in LAC

Exactly! Karl would be a great for for them. Forget trading, just sign this guy

Yeah, I liked the idea of Jordan and a draft pick for KG and Doc... I'd rather them keep Pierce around, he should go out as a lifer.

Trading for a coach.... does that even seem like it should be allowed :think2:

eh, why not? Red Sox got their current manager doing this... Tampa Bay gave up a pick for Jon Grudan back in the day. It happens. It's less of a trade and more of an agreement though, I guess.

Compensation, not really a trade. In today's climate in all 4 major sports, coaches seem to be more important than ever. 49ers might be best example.

KG aint shit and he's not a real Celtic but unless Pierce truly wants to leave I cant see Boston dumping Pierce - Im pretty sure SA would rather lose 20 seasons in a row before they traded Duncan, Parker or Manu - I guess who knows cuz Indy did let Peyton go

Reports of this deal being officially dead per Ainge.

Guess that means this will be official in 24 hours.

How is getting an overpaid big man a steal? Jordan is a decent roleplayer at best and makes 10ms a year.

If they really wanna blow it up just deal KG to the Clipps for an expiring contract. Jordan is not someone you wanna pay 10Ms a year.

If Clipps re-sign Paul the pick won't be much either.

Ain't shit besides 1 of the best players in NBA history? good 1

Also I'm guessing SA wouldn't rather lose 20 seasons in a row. The way people romanticize sports is funny, it is a business and nothing less....

The 9ers traded Joe Montana and cut Jerry Rice, don't need to say much more than that.

I don't blame Ainge for trying to get whatever he can from the Clippers - especially because they are notorious for making stupid deals, but there is a chance that if the deal does not go down, Doc might still choose to walk away (he wouldn't be allowed to coach until his contract expires, nba anyway).

typical clippers BS...Could've got KG/Pierce/Doc for Deandre Jordan and a few picks basically, thus Chris Paul would re-sign and they backout. PP/KG can still be productive roleplayers for a good team that doesn't need them to have big games on a nightly basis to win...

Paul seems like he really doesn't want to leave LA because it is LA but I'm guessing he realizes the Clippers are a joke.

While I don't love the deal for the Cs, still wanted to see it happen since it would be intriguing seeing CP3/Blake with the Celts guys....

Assuming the Clippers want to keep CP3 and make a run at Dwight... They probably figured Butler, Jordan, and draft picks would be more useful on that front maybe? As opposed to using it all on the Cs.

nah they're just cheap as shit, lol.

Bledsoe/Griffin only way they could get Dwight and I doubt the Lakers would do that anyway given it would be giving Dwight to the Clippers
