Hernandez isn't believed to be a murder suspect but a vehicle registered in his name emerged as a key piece of evidence. A body was found less than a mile from Hernandez's house in North Attleboro. SI.com reports that a source acknowledged a connection between Hernandez and the case.
SI also reported authorities were interested in searching Hernandez's home and that Hernandez has consulted with a lawyer.
The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Mass., reported on Tuesday that police identified a rented 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island license plates in connection with the possible homicide, in the town 40 miles south of Boston. The paper reported the vehicle is registered to Enterprise and investigators were hoping to analyze it for fingerprints.
Hernandez, 23, caught 51 passes for 483 yards and five touchdowns last season. The 2010 fourth-round pick has 175 receptions for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career, getting named to the Pro Bowl in his second season.

AH is as loose of a cannon as there has ever been. I have no clue if he was involved in this homicide...however, the dude is a certified nut-job and I've been surprised he has stayed out of trouble in his short NFL career. Urban Meyer and the UFAA (athletic association) did a very good job covering up some of his off-field shenanigans at UF. Hell, he came within a ****-hair of getting arrest his freshman summer (when he enrolled early at UF, and should have still been in HS finishing up his senior year). I'll be curious to see what comes of this story.

Dude might be a good guy, but he's from the bad side of town. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he still hangs out with the wrong crowd.

I can't imagine he really put a hit out on someone but the car was registered in his name which is bizarre.

With NE he hasn't done anything crazy, seems like he had grown up. We'll see....

LMAO. The Bellicheat way. Bill Bellicheat has coached 6 seasons in the NFL without Tom Brady, made the playoffs once. Who was the D Coordinator when he made the playoffs, Nick Saban.

well then, who was the defensive coordinator when Parcells won with the Giants?

at first I thought this was just something routine, but I'm a tad bit concerned for Aaron now. The kid grew up one town removed and is good friends with friends of ours, although I never met him.

I don't think he was part of the murder, but it appears he may have some stuff he doesn't want to be discovered. Not cooperating is never a good thing

his posse may have been involved in some shit which he knew about, I hope not

Yeah honestly when I started the thread, I felt like it'd end up being a non - story, but the circumstances warranted a post... Now I am definitely concerned, as at the very least, I imagine AH knows something about the homicide. Will he incredibly frustrating if both probowl TEs miss large portions of this season...

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. -- Embroiled in the investigation of the shooting death of a man near his Massachusetts home this week, New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez also is the subject of a civil lawsuit alleging he shot a Connecticut man in the face in February, according to court records.
The body of a man, identified Wednesday as 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, was found Monday evening about a mile from Hernandez's sprawling house in an upscale subdivision. Lloyd was shot in the head, sources told ABC' News. His body was discovered in a clearing near John Dietsch Boulevard not far from a vehicle that had been rented by Hernandez, the sources said.
At least seven state troopers on Wednesday searched both sides of a road just off the street where Hernandez lives. The officers used thin poles to pull back plants and search through undergrowth along the road, two days after a body was found about a mile away.
Meanwhile, New York attorney David Jaroslawicz told ESPN's Ed Werder that he represents Alexander S. Bradley, the man who claims he was shot by Hernandez after the two argued upon leaving a Miami nightclub in February.
Jaroslawicz said Wednesday that he filed a personal-injury lawsuit on behalf of his client but that the suit was withdrawn because of an inaccuracy. A corrected version will be refiled in Florida federal court later on Wednesday, Jaroslawicz said.
Jaroslawicz said his client has been a friend of Hernandez for several years. The lawyer said Bradley spent several weeks being treated at a hospital and has endured several operations with even more necessary to repair damage from the gunshot wound.
The original lawsuit, Jaroslawicz said, alleged that Hernandez shot Bradley in the face. The refiling contends that Bradley was shot in the arm but the bullet traveled into his head and caused damage there, including the loss of his right eye.
Asked whether he has a police report of the incident, Jaroslawicz declined to provide information. According to USA Today, his client was in the hospital for weeks and "I'm sure the police were there."
A spokesman for Miami-Dade police told USA Today that he was checking to see whether a report was filed.
Hernandez is represented by the Athletes First agency, which said early Wednesday that it had no comment on the police investigation. His mother said by phone from Connecticut on Tuesday she had no knowledge of a case involving him.
In 38 games, the 6-foot-1, 245-pound Hernandez has 175 receptions for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns. He missed 10 games last season with an ankle injury and had shoulder surgery in April but is expected to be ready for training camp. The Patriots have not said which shoulder was operated on.
Last summer, the Patriots gave Hernandez a five-year contract. It was worth $40 million, according to reports, and came just months after the team locked up tight end Rob Gronkowski through 2019.

His money was probably used by his friends for drug activity like a lot of Pro Athletes do. Easy interest, but with the power of drugs and money combined, sometimes folks end up dead for dumb reasons.

These are low level street dealers who might make a couple hundred thousand - he got 12.5 mil as a signing bonus on a 37 mil contract - I cant believe he could be dumb enough to eff around with drugs when he's worth near 20 mil
