The former manager and current MLB executive has to be proud of the grab his daughter, Cristina, made outside of a Brooklyn building.
Cristina Torre saw a baby hanging on a building outside a storefront. When the 1-year-old boy dropped, the former catcher's daughter reacted quickly and caught the baby in her arms.
“The woman caught the baby,” Kristen Bramsen, 48, told the New York News. “The baby was shaken. Everyone was going up to the woman and hugging her. I hugged her.”
While Cristina Torre helped avert a tragedy, the baby's parents, Sam Miller, 23, and Tiffany Demetria, 24, face charges that include endangering the welfare of a child and neglect, according to law enforcement sources.
At least Torre was able to keep these charges from being more serious.
Torre, 44, did not respond to a request by The Associated Press for comment.
