Was at a charity golf event today and they were doing a fundraiser selling these discount cards that cost $29/month. The card came with multiple discounts, % off movies theaters, dinning, shopping, airline tix, etc. which is cool. It reminded me of the old "entertainment books" but what got me is they give you a $50 restaurant.com certificate every month. For me that was no brainer, $29 for $50 certificate + the other perks and discounts. But how is restaurant.com? any good or bad experiences using them?

Thanks for that link BAS, the reviews were interesting. Some really good and some really bad. Which is what I have been reading so far on a few sites. Some love it and some dislike it. I did see on the restaurant.com site the min purchase required for using their certificates... doesnt seem outrageous. Ihop was $5 certificate but must spend $7... Im excited to try it

You have to take it to the minimum, often $35 qualifies to get $25 off,

you spend maybe $5 on the certificate....or less

get the meal around $35

tip about $7

-5 Certificate
-35 Meal for 2
-7 20% tip on $35
+25 certificate

Can get you out for like $22 for a nice dinner and a good tip....you have to structure it that way and keep it to the minimum requirements. I used to do this often with my first wife....now I won't even ride in the same car with the BITCH !

still not the EX, working on that,

at Malones they count alcohol towards the $35 requirement, so I usually got a $5 beer, and and a Sandwich for maybe $12,

wife got like a salad for $12 and clam chowder for $5....close enough to make the minimum.

Bill would be like just under $20 , maybe $18, plus I paid usually $3-4 for the certificate..

not something to pull out on a date, but who cares with a wife !

LOL thanks Doug, yea it sounds like a win win deal here, just kind of feel like I am cheating someone or I am missing some fine print... If things go sour or I was mislead I will definitely post about BAS. Charity events usually have amazing travel deal so I didnt think twice about this one. Little risk involved with only $29

I was very excited about resturant.com

bought a gift certificate there, super deal....

A couple weeks later got an email saying the place isn't accepting them anymore, and I can claim another gift card... haven't done it yet...
