I finally took the plunge last week. It seems to me there is a fine line between a really nice suit and one that is not as nice. Think both levels of suits look sharp but since I don't wear them often at all, I took the Triple A suit instead of the big league suit.

All that said, I think the shirt and tie make the suit so I paid close attention to that.

Hardly ever need a suit, let alone anything expensive.

If you care to share, I would love to hear some more details. Price ranges? did you get something nice off the rack or full custom? etc.

can't beat a white t shirt and blue jeans :toast:

sure you can....

t-shirt and shorts !

I've never owned a suit and never will. I don't even remember how to tie a tie.

I will never wear another pair of uncomfortable dress shoes again in my life. I will never attend another wedding/ funeral....same thing really.

no reason to wear uncomfortable clothes anywhere !

Women should never have to wear stupid high heels either.

Doug, are you high? No women in heels? What fucking good are they then? I thought women were here to make guys happy and a bitch in heels makes me happy!

You might be the most miserable poster to ever grace the pages of the RX.

I only wanted one because I'm going to a nice function next weekend and I figured I should buy one for that event and future weddings and/or funerals. I won't wear it enough for it to be custom. If I wore one each day I'd think one would buy 5-6. My jacket, pants, shirt, tie along with a tie clasp were right around $500. Not an expensive suit by nice suit standards. All I need though.

my wife made me get a real nice suit for a black tie optional wedding last year...painful to drop close to a grand on what is basically one set of clothes but other option was to rent a tux....we went to bloomingdales and i got a hugo boss suit....looks nice but not all that much of a difference from my other not so nice suits (i.e., the ones I got at mens wearhouse)...overall seems like a waste of money unless it is important for your business perception....but i let my wife pick it out...i wouldnt know what to get otherwise

If you're ever in Thailand for whatever reason, it's a good place to pick up a nice suit on the cheap side.

I'm not spending a ton of money on a suit I'll wear once every five years.
