Is it me or did they use to air the NBA Finals much earlier? I can remember watching the Bulls Vs Jazz games and they ended by 9 pm easter.

Am I imagining this?

I know but didn't they air at earlier times. Especially on Sunday there is no need to air a game at 8pm. I remember at least some games of the Finals airing very early compared to now.

Yes. They started at the same time (9 o'clock)

I liked their format better.

Fri, Sun-- first two games

venue change

Wed-Fri-Sun

venue change

Wed- Fri

None of that extra days off while in the same city

Everything about the NBA playoffs seemed much more exciting on NBC

I agree. I do not know if it was just the teams involved or it was NBCs broadcasting skills lol but I remember it being much more exciting

Bring the NBA back to NBC where it belongs. Just the intro alone was better than watching an entire game on ESPN/ABC.

I loved the wed/fri/sun nba finals on nbc. The sunday game would start at 7pm. 2 out of 3 nites that u didnt have to stay up late on a "school nite" to watch the nba finals. I also miss watching nba conference finals games on memorial day weekend during the day. Memorial day weekend meant watching hoops during bbq's

Yes, when Pat O'Brien was the CBS pre game, post game studio host, right.
Good stuff.
