The Atlanta Braves managed a one run win last night over a scrappy Kansas City team as Jason Heyward providied the go ahead run inching Atlanta's Road Record back to only two games under .500 at 20-22. The two teams will square off again tonight at Kauffman Stadium with the Atlanta offense maybe finally coming out of an offensive funk. Atlanta was batting .205 scoring three runs of fewer in a five of six losing skid before this series but has scored 11 runs and recorded 24 hits in the past two games. The Home Run is the Braves key as Atlanta is 41-9 with a least one HR per game compared to 4-23 with no HR's and Heyward's HR last night was the difference maker. Minor is 8-3 2.89 ERA over this season but has posted a 6.00 ERA in his last two starts with four Earned Runs in six Innings Pitched in last outing. Minor does have a 2.38 Road ERA and 90+ K's on the season and will look to get K's tonight against a Kansas City offense that has also had scoring issues. Mendoza is 2-4 4.30 ERA on the season with 40+ K's but has only received only 14 runs of support in last seven outings. Mendoza is winless at home posting a 5.88 ERA and allowed four Earned Runs in five Innings Pitched in last outing. Billy "Big Country Breakfast" Butler who even has his own Barbecue Sauce is struggling for Kansas City with a .167 average but Mike Moustakas is .474 so the Minor/Moustakas matchup will be critical. Kansas City has the potential for great speed on the bases once men are aboard so Minor will have to have his usual great command to keep BB's to a bare minimum. If Atlanta can keep up the fundamental hitting tonight Braves Fans may be treated to a second helping of that Kansas City Barbecue as Atlanta tries to make it three straight wins on the road.
