Good luck to them

My 2 fav players of all time, hate to see the era end but was fun. Wish they could've teamed up earlier in their careers before they were both on the wrong side of 30. Could've won a lot more than 1 ring...

It is a good move for Brooklyn since they won't have cap room forever anyway, might as well trade for more contracts (I wouldn't wanna pay their starting 5 18mill per person, but I'm not the 12th richest guy in the world either so thats pretty irrelevant to him)

DWill-JoeJ-Pierce-KG-Lopez could be interesting, atleast makes them much more interesting than last years team that lost to the Bulls backups.

As for the Celts, getting 3 future #1s is nice considering the Nets could be terrible in 2016 and 2018. Celts might as well deal Rondo/JGreen now and just try to rebuild with picks/tanking/cap room. You don't want to be stuck in the middle with Rondo leading the team to 30-35 wins, might as well just bottom out.

Posted my thoughts on Pierce in the nba forum. Echo OP's points though... Draft picks are solid, 4 #1s over the next two years is no joke. Will miss watching Pierce especially though.

The Nets are idiots. Garnett and Paul Pierce were great 5 years ago.

KoC the way the cap works the Nets only real move was to deal for guys like Pierce/KG

They are way over the cap so it doesn't really matter how much those guys make. They're locked into that Lopez/DWill/JoeJ core regardless so might as well deal...

Their luxury tax bill is gonna be insane and no way in hell would any other team pay it (even the Knicks and Lakers won't go that far with salaries I doubt) but their owner is a rich russian dude who has a new toy and doesn't care for now.

If you are gonna pay Lopez/Johnson/DWill a combined 60million a year, might as well just get Pierce and KG and see what happens rather than lose rd 1 or 2 for sure...

Ainge said Celts are keeping Rondo, if that is true I doubt they can get that high of a lottery pick next year. Might even make the playoffs as a low seed since the East doesn't have much depth.

The faster the Celtics get rid of Rondo, the better off they will be. I doubt they will move him until midseason if he shows hes back to being healthy.

Could build another dynasty in a similar way the Cowboys did in the 90's in the NFL. Alternatively their picks could stink.

This. Don't think for a second that coaching rondo as the main guy played into Docs decision to leave.

Imo the Nets have doomed themselves to years of mediocrity with this deal. On paper, they still are not as good as the Heat. The Bulls will have Rose back and the Pacers have shown themselves to be a pretty decent team. To give up 3 first round picks for two aging veterans?!!

I had to rescue a cat on Paul's second floor balcony earlier in the week, it was quite the ordeal.
