-1300 doesn't do much for me but it's still better than a muni bond @ 8% interest by far. I gotta put up 4-5 dimes to make it worth more than a chicken dinner. Maybe I'll just use Gennady Golovkin in a parlay. I haven't seen a stud like him in a very long time. He could use a little competition too. (And so could I.) He is must see TV regardless. Hoping someone has seen something better than -1300 out there. RSVP

-1275 at 5dimes, and that's normally the best you can find. If it comes up under "reduced" there tmw, you may get -1225/1250.

Nice. I'll take that Golovkin to win SU for -800. I appreciate that. I have a Bet365 account that I kept open just for this situation. Watch this guy. You won't see a puncher that can punch like him maybe ever. You'd almost swear he has lead boxing gloves. He's undefeated with over 90% KO's. Fun to watch... especially for a middleweight. Hope he can find an opponent after this fight.

Should be a great fight. -800 is too much with another fighter just as big and strong. He should be able to find fights after this as well being able to fight anywhere from 154-168. Worry bout that later, as Macklin gave Sergio Martinez all he could handle before being TKO'd late. Enjoy the fights tonight. It is a great fight card actually that should be action packed.

Screw it...Give me Macklin +950 for .25 unit. He gives me a punchers chance, and at those odds, I'll take it. He will prob end up getting TKO/KO'd like late in the fight with Martinez, but he will constantly move forward and take the ass whooping, which provides a little value. Enjoy the fights. Card looks pretty nice...

Down to -975 at 5d. Went ahead and took Macklin +950 for .5 unit. He may not win, but damn good value at that number...Enjoy the fight

Told you he could punch, that Golovkin. Here's a video of the KO sequence. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9438033

It takes quite a lot to make me post boxers who punch like that because lots of boxers can punch, but few can punch like him. Don't remember a body shot that put out anyone's lights like that... well I do remember Oscar De La Hoya getting hit in the liver and writhing in pain for a while from a body shot, but that was an unusual KO in a way that can be explained because Bernard Hopkins was just being Bernard Hopkins doing some work on the punching bag and unfortunately Oscar De La Hoya was that punching bag.

There was nothing spectacular about Golovkin's punches other than he can hit with immense force behind his power punches like nobody else. This was just an ordinary looking everyday body shot... or was it? I think after this he may need to go up to fighting as a light-heavyweight just to find someone willing to take him on. All of his knockouts are conclusive and out of 27 fights, he's knocked out 24 of his opponents.

I just don't see any value in betting against the guy, probably at any price. He's my new Mike Tyson. But he's just a middleweight.

Nice bodyshot, but he's gotta long way to go to be in the likes of Marciano, JC Chavez, and Roberto Duran in that dept to name a few. Those guys were known to wear on the body, take a beating, and go for the kill afterwards. Guy is impressive for sure. Now have my eye on him and baby Tito.

I don't know how or why it is that these Eastern European men can wallop their opponents like no one else in their weight class or division. Other than being a couple of giants, both of the Klitchkos had massive endurance and strength written all over their bodies. Mircro Crocop was and still is a beast with superhuman like strength and power but time seems to be hot on his heels. He reminds me a little of Golovkin however Golovkin is much less spectacular even though he hits twice as hard as Crocop if that's even possible. The one thing about Golovkin that you could consider spectacular is the thing that counts most, his record. I think as a pro he's 29-0 with 26 knockouts. He seems untouchable.

But overall, they don't seem to make white boys like they did back in the day. I wasn't around to see Rocky Marciano but aside from him, I can't think of a single superstar fighter that's been white since the 50's at the very latest. There have been some good ones but no great ones -- unbeatable legendary types. So when a good one comes along, to me they stick out like a sore thumb. In my head, Latin men and Filipinos count as one breed, slightly not quite white, slightly different from a physical standpoint and mentally and culturally very different... but essentially different. Golden boy and the pacman and Silva are of a different breed but the same. Most Europeans and men of European decent I would consider to be white.

[Note to self] Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva square off again this year on December 28th. Thus far I consider Weidman's win vs Silva however well deserved, just a glitch in the grand scheme of things. The clown got caught and now he will have to prove that he can beat someone when in all seriousness he needs to do that in all seriousness -- or has Anderson Silva has met his match?

It is WAY WAY too soon to even consider Weidman as a legend in the making, but Golovkin could be a very different story. There just isn't very much great white hope out there. Still though Weidman's knockout over the Spiderman a week ago should not go entirely unnoticed in the realm of the legend. Silva was never supposed to go down according to the legend makers, but not according to Chris Weidman. How far does this talent of his go? I'm probably safe in thinking it won't go that far, but he has definitely earned an opportunity to prove himself. December 28th. [/note to self]

Here is a better video source. ESPN seems to be having some technical difficulties over the weekend but not everything they have made available is on the fritz. I found one here that clearly shows the KO punch, yes a body shot just below the ribs on Macklin's right side. Here is a comparison between the body shot delivered "unto" Oscar dela Hoya by Bernard Hopkins which I just happened to mention in my previous post a couple of weeks ago and that woefully painful version of the same delivered by Gennady Golovkin "unto" Matthew Macklin. Nice work and a pretty good boxing clinic of sorts if you like studying this kind of thing like me. Both body shots qualify as two of the best I've ever seen in my TV watching career. Both qualify as "chopped liver" but anatomically speaking, I'll stick with my chopped chicken liver from the local Jewish Deli or the kind my grandmother used to make. Yum.

Here's the link. It's working fine in spite of all that isn't at the moment. It won't run in a forum window but you can watch it all you want on the ESPN website so here you go: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9441142
