Larry Wayne "Chipper" Jones Jr. played his entire 18 year career with the Atlanta Braves organization and the eightime All Star will have his number 10 jersey retired in an Atlanta Braves Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony tonight at Turner Field. Jones was the only switch hitter in MLB history to have a .300 career batting average and more than 400 HR's. After the very emotional ceremony, Atlanta will square off with Arizona with the Braves looking for better success than in the previous series in this matchup. Atlanta dropped two of three in Arizona in mid May but has won six of seven vs. the D Backs at Turner Field. Atlanta is coming off a sixth loss in nine games and will look to Teheran to have a quailty home outing. Teheran is 5-4 3.32 ERA and allowed two Earned Runs and eight Hits in six Innings Pitched in last start. Teheran has posted a 2.45 ERA in last nine starts and was only a few outs away from a no hitter a few weeks ago pitching at Turner Field. Delgado a former Atlanta Brave is 0-1 4.58 ERA and allowed four Earned Runs and six Hits in five Innings Pitched in last outing. Delgado does throw hard but will have to control BB's for maximum effectiveness. Martin Prado also a former Brave makes his first appearance tonight back in his old ballpark. Arizona dropped a season high five games before picking up a win yesterday and will look to spoil Atlanta's big night tonight. Justin Upton a former D Back will be facing his old team once again but is only batting .158 with one extra base hit in last eleven games. A capacity crowd will be in attendance tonight at Turner Field to honor Chipper Jones for an outstanding career. Some tears will be shed and some old war stories will be told as Chipper Jones jersey number now will be hung along side other Atlanta Braves greats such a Hank Aaron, Dale Murphy, John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, and Tom Glavine. Take a bow and enjoy your big night Chipper Jones. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
